RULES

Players must construct their decklist based on the custom Expedition! deck rules (as published on our league's discord server). Eligible cards are those that you collected during the event.

Pokemon & Trainers:

  • You may use only Pokemon & Trainer cards that your team collected during this event.
  • You may use up to 4 copies of any card collected.
  • There are no rules about overlapping cards (teammates’ decks can have as many cards in common as they wish).
  • Your deck must contain at least 8 Basic Pokemon.
  • Your deck cannot include more than 2 Rule Box Pokemon.

Basic Energy:

  • You must play exactly 2 types of Basic Energy in your deck.
  • You may only choose from the 6 eligible types (Grass, Fire, Water, Lightning, Psychic, Fighting)
  • No two members of a team can use the same Basic Energy type combination. (If I use Lightning & Psychic, nobody else on my team could use that specific combination.)
  • Both types of Basic Energy in your deck must be played in multiples of 4. (Example: 8 Lighting & 4 Psychic)

Swiss Rounds BO3. A win is worth 3 pts. Intentional Draws are allowed for teammates and are worth 1 pt. The goal is to get yourself and your teammates as far up the standings as possible; this event is the best opportunity to earn points in our Team Challenge.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES

3-Day Rounds / 24-Hour Check In: Once a new round is paired all players will have 3 days to complete the match with their opponent. You MUST complete check in and initiate contact with your opponent within the first 24 hours. If you are missing matches/check-ins or are non-responsive to messages from your opponent, you may be dropped without warning at the organizer's discretion.

Going First/Second: The winner of the coin flip decides who goes first for Game 1.  For Games 2 & 3, the loser of the prior game gets to decide who goes first.  (In cases where the winner of the previous game wins the coin flip and selects the wrong option by accident, the opponent is entitled to request a restart of the affected game.)

Game Loss Due to Connectivity/App Issues or Player Mistakes: It is league policy that each game that is initiated should count toward the match outcome. Some unfortunate situations may arise during gameplay — a player’s game may end or become unresponsive due to internet or app issues, the player may choose the wrong deck, etc. In those cases, that player should accept the game loss.

Incomplete Matches: At the end of a scheduled round, any incomplete matches will be automatically scored a draw.  If one player was primarily responsible for the match not being completed (examples: lack of reasonable communication, insufficient availability to schedule a the match, leaving in the middle of a best-of-3 set, etc), the organizer is permitted to give their opponent the victory.

Illegal Decklist: If a player is discovered to have submitted a deck that does not comply with the rules, they will be dropped from the event without exception. It is the player’s responsibility to submit a legal decklist in advance; no changes of any kind are allowed once the event has started.

Need Help?: If you have any questions or concerns during the event, use the "Request a Judge" button here on Limitless or get in touch with @rabidragon on Discord.
