PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Click the Register Now button to sign up for the event. You'll be asked to provide the following information:

    • Your Discord username (please provide your constant username, not your server-specific nickname/handle).
    • You'll be asked to correctly answer a fundamental question about this event's structure.
  • Join us on Discord: You MUST join our Discord server. This will allow you to get the latest updates on the event and more easily contact your opponents. If you are not a member of the server you will not be included in the event.

  • Tournament Check In is required. A yellow "check in" button will appear on the dashboard 24 hours before the start of the event.

HOW TO PLAY

  • Matches are played on the Pokémon TCG Live application.

  • This event features flexible 3-Day Rounds and will progress over the course of several weeks. You will have three days to coordinate and complete your match against each opponent.

  • It is highly recommended that all players take screenshots of their match victory screens.

  • Please read all details below for more information about the tournament's structure and policies.

DECK RULES

At the start of each tournament round, a pair of Basic Energy types will be randomly chosen by the organizer. Players will construct a deck(s) based on those energy types.

Decks for each round must follow these rules:

  • The deck must contain ONLY those types of Basic Energy (one or both).
  • The deck must NOT contain any Special Energy.
  • The deck must NOT contain any Colorless-type Pokémon.
  • The deck must be legal in the TCG's Standard format.

You are not required to submit your decklists; you won't know what deck(s) your opponent will be using until gameplay begins. Players are permitted to make adjustments or change their deck entirely between games within the BO3 set.

You'll need to be in our Discord server to see the Basic Energy eligible for each round.

STRUCTURE

  • Swiss System: You will be paired with a new opponent each round and your goal is to earn as many wins/points as possible.

    • A match win is worth 1 point.
    • A match loss or draw is worth 0 pts.
  • Top Cut: At the end of the Swiss period, the top players will advance to a single-elimination bracket.

  • Best-of-3: All matches in this tournament are best-of-three games. This means you will play up to three games against each opponent; the first player to win two games is declared the match winner.

3-Day Rounds | 24-Hour Check-In Period

  • Once a new round is paired all players will have 3 days to complete the match with their opponent.

  • You MUST complete check in and initiate contact with your opponent within the first 24 hours. A missed check in with no sign of communication is a match loss.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES

Proof of Match Result: It is recommended that players take a screenshot of the victory screen for each game. You should keep these until the end of the tournament in case there is a dispute.

Match Timers ON: Match timers must be enabled. When you challenge your opponent, do NOT check the "Turn Off Timers" option.

Going First/Second: The winner of the coin flip decides who goes first for Game 1.  For Games 2 & 3, the loser of the prior game gets to decide who goes first.  (In cases where the winner of the previous game wins the coin flip and selects the wrong option by accident, the opponent is entitled to request a restart of the affected game.)

Missed Check In: In order to have as many active pairings as possible each round, players who miss check in should expect to be dropped. If you miss a check in by mistake but intend to continue playing in the event, please contact @Rabidragon on Discord and let him know you would like to be paired in future rounds.

Incomplete Matches: At the end of a scheduled round, any incomplete matches will be automatically scored a double loss.  If one player was primarily responsible for the match not being completed (examples: lack of reasonable communication, insufficient availability to schedule a the match, leaving in the middle of a best-of-3 set, etc), the organizer is permitted to give their opponent the victory.

Connectivity Issues: It is league policy that each game that is initiated should count toward the match outcome. Some unfortunate situations may arise where a player’s game becomes unresponsive due to internet or app issues. In those cases, that player should accept the game loss.

Game Loss Due to Invalid Deck: If the player is using an invalid deck, they should take the loss for that single game and then complete the remainder of the best-of-3 match using a valid deck.

Dropping from the Event: If you no longer wish to be paired in future rounds, please go to your dashboard and click the red "Drop"button.

Family Friendly Community: We welcome players of all ages. You are expected to conduct yourself appropriately and keep discussions polite. Inappropriate content in the form of usernames, language used in chat, or in any other context is subject to removal from the event.

Staff Rulings: Any tournament staff for our league's events may take actions and make rulings consistent with the spirit of the game and in the best interest of fair play.

Need Help?: If you have any questions or concerns during the event, use the "Request a Judge" button here on Limitless or get in touch with @Rabidragon or @Okorizaru on Discord. Since this is a flexible schedule event, please allow a few hours for a response.
