HOW TO PLAY

  1. Register and read the Deck Rules below.

  2. Join the PTCGL League Discord Server and submit your Card Bank to rabidragon via DM.

  • When you submit, please separate your Card Bank into categories - Pokemon (20) and Trainers (20).
  • Please specify which 2 Pokemon and 2 Trainer card names you wish to have immunity.
  • If you have any questions, @rabidragon on Discord and I will be glad to help!

Matches are played on the Pokemon TCG Live application. This event features flexible 3-Day Rounds and will progress over the course of several weeks. You will have three days to coordinate and complete your match against each opponent.

DECK RULES

Players will place 40 card names in their Card Bank from which they must construct their deck. As the event progresses, card names will be banned at random making deck building more difficult.

Before the Event:

Each player will submit their CARD BANK - this is not a decklist, but rather a list of 40 card names which you are able to use when constructing your deck(s).

Your Card Bank includes:

  • 20 Pokemon
  • 20 Trainers

When you submit your list of cards, you’ll choose 2 Pokemon and 2 Trainers that you’d like to grant IMMUNITY... these 4 card names can never be removed from your personal Card Bank and will therefore be guaranteed to be available to you for the entire event.

Once the event begins, each player’s Card Bank will be public knowledge. All cards listed by the players for their Card Banks will also be aggregated on a DEVASTATION LIST.

During the Event:

Between tournament rounds, 15% of all remaining card names on the Devastation List will be randomly chosen for removal. At that time, those card names will be removed from all Card Banks in which they were listed (except where a player specified them for immunity).

The removal odds for each card name are weighed based on the number of players who put it their Card Bank - so the more popular a card name is, the more likely it is to be removed.

You will construct a new deck(s) for each round of this event.

After you are paired with an opponent, you may prepare your deck for that match:

  • You may ONLY use Pokemon & Trainer card names that are currently available in your Card Bank (you may use any number of copies and any printings of each card name).
  • Basic & Special Energy is available to all players without restriction.

You do not need to submit decklists, simply build and play.

You can make deck adjustments between games within a best-of-3 set. Simply inform your opponent that you wish to make adjustments and please take no more than 10 minutes between games.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES

3-Day Rounds / 24-Hour Check In: Once a new round is paired all players will have 3 days to complete the match with their opponent. You MUST complete check in and initiate contact with your opponent within the first 24 hours. If you are missing matches/check-ins or are non-responsive to messages from your opponent, you may be dropped without warning at the organizer's discretion.

Going First/Second: The winner of the coin flip decides who goes first for Game 1.  For Games 2 & 3, the loser of the prior game gets to decide who goes first.  (In cases where the winner of the previous game wins the coin flip and selects the wrong option by accident, the opponent is entitled to request a restart of the affected game.)

Game Loss Due to Connectivity/App Issues or Player Mistakes: It is league policy that each game that is initiated should count toward the match outcome. Some unfortunate situations may arise during gameplay — a player’s game may end or become unresponsive due to internet or app issues, the player may choose the wrong deck, etc. In those cases, that player should accept the game loss.

Incomplete Matches: At the end of a scheduled round, any incomplete matches will be automatically scored a double loss.  If one player was primarily responsible for the match not being completed (examples: lack of reasonable communication, insufficient availability to schedule a the match, leaving in the middle of a best-of-3 set, etc), the organizer is permitted to give their opponent the victory.

Illegal Deck: If a player is discovered to be using a deck that includes cards not in their Card Bank, they receive the game loss.

Family Friendly Community: We welcome players of all ages. You are expected to conduct yourself appropriately and keep discussions polite. Inappropriate content in the form of usernames, language used in chat, or in any other context is subject to removal from the event.

Need Help?: If you have any questions or concerns during the event, use the "Request a Judge" button here on Limitless or get in touch with @rabidragon on Discord.
