Scarlet & Violet - Regulation F

1. General Information

This tournament follows the official Pokémon Video Game Championships (VGC) ruleset under Regulation F. By registering and participating, players agree to comply with all rules listed below and accept the decisions of the tournament organizers.


2. Game & Battle Format

  • Game: Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet
  • Format: VGC Regulation F
  • Battle Type: Double Battles
  • Team Size: 4 Pokémon selected from a team of 6
  • Level: All Pokémon are automatically set to Level 50
  • Ruleset to Play Ingame: Set Ruleset 1

3. Team Construction Rules

  • Teams must consist of exactly 6 Pokémon.
  • Players select 4 Pokémon for each battle.
  • Only Pokémon legal under Regulation F may be used.
  • All Pokémon must be obtained legitimately.
  • The use of hacked, cloned, edited, or otherwise illegal Pokémon is strictly prohibited.
  • Item Clause: Each Pokémon must hold a unique item.
  • Species Clause: Duplicate Pokémon are not allowed.
  • Pokémon nicknames must be appropriate and non-offensive.

4. Regulation F Pokémon Eligibility

  • Regulation F allows Pokémon available in Paldea, Kitakami (The Teal Mask), and Blueberry Academy (The Indigo Disk).
  • Certain Legendary Pokémon are allowed according to the official Regulation F rules.
  • Restricted Legendary Pokémon (e.g. box legendaries and similar high-power legendaries) are not allowed.
  • Mythical Pokémon are not allowed.
  • The complete list of legal Pokémon follows the official Regulation F Pokédex.

5. Terastallization

  • Players may freely choose Tera Types for their Pokémon.
  • Any restrictions imposed by Regulation F must be followed.

6. Moves, Abilities & Items

  • Only moves, abilities, and items obtainable through normal gameplay are allowed.
  • Moves, abilities, or items banned under Regulation F are not permitted.
  • Exploiting glitches, bugs, or unintended game mechanics is prohibited.

7. Match Rules

  • Matches are played as Best of 3, unless otherwise stated.

  • Players must start their matches within the scheduled time.

  • Failure to appear within the grace period may result in a match loss.

  • Disconnect Policy:

    • If a disconnect occurs with no clear advantage, the game may be replayed.
    • If a disconnect occurs when a clear advantage has been established, the organizer may award the win to the leading player.

8. Fair Play & Sportsmanship

  • Players must act respectfully toward opponents, organizers, and staff.
  • Stream sniping, collusion, or match fixing is forbidden.
  • Any form of cheating or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in immediate disqualification.

9. Streaming & Media

  • Streaming matches is permitted unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  • Players may be asked to provide match replays, screenshots, or recordings.
  • Tournament organizers reserve the right to stream, record, and use matches for promotional purposes.

10. Penalties

Rule violations may result in:

  • Warnings
  • Game or match losses
  • Disqualification
  • Removal from future tournaments

Penalties are applied at the discretion of the tournament organizers.


11. Organizer Authority

Tournament organizers reserve the right to interpret, enforce, and modify these rules if necessary to ensure fair play and tournament integrity.

All organizer decisions are final.


12. Rule Acceptance

By participating in this tournament, players confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Regulation F ruleset.
