The early meta has been established! AJ took the crown in the first tournament of the format running a powerful core centered around Ursaring, Magmar, and Porygon2! Now it’s time to ADAPT! We’re The Lab VGC! Our mission is to provide a beginner friendly stepping stone for newer players (as well as some more experienced players) to help sharpen their fundamentals in their play, team building, and mental fortitude to prepare themselves for regional level tournaments. Each player will be assigned to a team and will be involved in hands-on team building and practice sessions with day 2 competitors and multi-time regional competitors who understand the level of detail and consistency required to prepare yourself and your team for a regional competition. We will play official tournament formats as well as our own formats (I.e. this tournament with middle stage only Pokemon allowed).

Each format will last 1-2 weeks, this will allow us to establish the meta and help our players identify what can be strong cores and individual mons within a format and how to identify the right partners as well as potential counter play to them. We will start each week off with a discord wide meta analysis streamed by PokeOmis on TikTok and then build for week one, with a tournament ideally at the end of each week. We will follow that with a tournament analysis and pinpoint why certain teams are strong, where teams could improve, etc. then we will build week 2 taking these ideas and teams into account
