Matches are played on the Pokémon TCG Live application.
This event features flexible 3-Day Rounds and will progress over the course of several weeks. You will have three days to coordinate and complete your match against each opponent.
DECK RULES
1. Off-Meta restriction:
- Your deck can't contain any Pokemon with day 2 finish at Major Tournaments. Here is a list of all allowed Pokemon.
- Pre-evolutions of allowed Pokemon are also allowed. If a pre-evolution has results at Major Tournaments, you must play the allowed Evolution card to play the pre-evolution.
- Example 1: you can play any Froakie and Frogadier as long as you Play Greninja ex SVP 54
- Example 2: you can play Dusclops SFA 19 as long as you play Dusknoir BRS 62
- Example 3: you can play Zamazenta V as long as you play Zamazenta VSTAR
- Manaphy BRS 41 is exceptionally allowed.
- All Ace Specs are banned, whether they have results at Major Tournaments or not.
- Other Trainers and Energy cards are allowed, whether they have results at Major Tournaments or not.
2. Singleton restriction:
- You may only have ONE copy of each card in your deck.
- Cards representing the same Pokemon but with different names are allowed.
- Cards with the same name but different effect are not allowed.
- Example: you can only have a maximum of 1 Rowlet and 1 Dartrix in your deck, no matter their print. But you can have 1 Decidueye, 1 Decidueye ex and 1 Hisuian Decidueye if you want, because the names are different.
- This rule applies to all Pokemon, Trainers, and Special Energy in your deck. (Basic Energy is NOT restricted.)
As you can see the example deck:
- Is all singleton outside of basic energy
- Can play both a Kingdra and Kingdra ex, since they have different names
- Can play multiple types of Pokémon and basic energy, this is not GLC!
- Can play Hisuian Basculin despite it being competitive, since it also plays its non-competitive evolution
- Can play Manaphy, since it is exceptionally allowed
- Can play ex, V, and radiant, as long as they’re not competitive
- Can play a bunch of competitive supporters and special energy, since that restriction is only for Pokémon
- Doesn’t have an Ace Spec
This deck definitely has room for improvement, and I wouldn’t recommend playing it as is, but hopefully this gives you a better idea of what you can do in this format!
TOURNAMENT POLICIES
3-Day Rounds / 24-Hour Check In: Once a new round is paired all players will have 3 days to complete the match with their opponent. You MUST complete check in and initiate contact with your opponent within the first 24 hours. If you are missing matches/check-ins or are non-responsive to messages from your opponent, you may be dropped without warning at the organizer's discretion.
Going First/Second: The winner of the coin flip decides who goes first for Game 1. For Games 2 & 3, the loser of the prior game gets to decide who goes first. (In cases where the winner of the previous game wins the coin flip and selects the wrong option by accident, the opponent is entitled to request a restart of the affected game.)
Game Loss Due to Connectivity/App Issues or Player Mistakes: It is league policy that each game that is initiated should count toward the match outcome. Some unfortunate situations may arise during gameplay — a player’s game may end or become unresponsive due to internet or app issues, the player may choose the wrong deck, etc. In those cases, that player should accept the game loss.
Incomplete Matches: At the end of a scheduled round, any incomplete matches will be automatically scored a double loss (or tie where applicable). If one player was primarily responsible for the match not being completed (examples: lack of reasonable communication, insufficient availability to schedule a the match, leaving in the middle of a best-of-3 set, etc), the organizer is permitted to give their opponent the victory.
Illegal Decklist: If a player is discovered to have submitted a deck that does not comply with the rules, they will be dropped from the event without exception. It is the player’s responsibility to submit a legal decklist in advance; no changes of any kind are allowed once the event has started.
Family Friendly Community: We welcome players of all ages. You are expected to conduct yourself appropriately and keep discussions polite. Inappropriate content in the form of usernames, language used in chat, or in any other context is subject to removal from the event.
Need Help?: If you have any questions or concerns during the event, use the "Request a Judge" button here on Limitless or get in touch with @Okorizaru or @MattyCims on Discord.
