Free Entry | All Players Welcome!

Hosted by PTCGL League & Card Cavern Trading Cards

Please read the rules to ensure you and your team are able to successfully compete in the event. You must have a full team of 3 players, each with a valid decklist as outlined in the "Special Team Deck Rules" below. Thank you!

Players are competing in this event as Teams of 3. You MUST join the PTCGL League Discord Server. We use Discord for event updates and player communication. You can also use the Discord server to find other players who need a team.

Each player must still register individually and submit their own decklist prior to the published start time.

  • If you are the first to register, you'll select "Create Team". You'll be the team leader and will be asked to provide a Team Name.
  • If you are the second/third person to register, you'll select "Join Team" and enter the Team ID (which your team leader can provide).

Matches are played on the Pokemon TCG Live application. This event features flexible 3-Day Rounds and will progress over the course of several weeks. You will have three days to coordinate and complete your match against each opponent.

SPECIAL TEAM DECK RULES

Each member of the team submits their own decklist to be used during the event. However, you will have to coordinate with your teammates to ensure you each follow the rules below:

  • All decks must be Standard-legal in the TCG.
  • Each card name may appear in no more than ONE of the team's three decks.
    • If you have the card "Pikachu" in your deck, neither of your teammates may use "Pikachu" in their decks.
    • This rule applies to all Pokemon, Trainers, and Special Energy.
  • Each type of Basic Energy may appear in no more than ONE of the team's three decks.

3 v 3 GAMEPLAY RULES

  • Each round, your team will face a rival team.
  • You will be paired with a specific opponent from that rival team. You will play a Best-of-3 match against that individual opponent (the first player to win 2 games in the BO3 is the match winner). You'll report the results of your match as usual though the Limitless dashboard.
  • Whichever team has 2 or more players win their respective BO3 matches is declared the winner of that series.

As you can see, individual match pairings, BO3 gameplay, and reporting results here on Limitless are very similar to individual events. Where this tournament is different is that we are taking your individual results and combining them with your two teammates to form an overall "team result".

TOURNAMENT POLICIES

3-Day Rounds / 24-Hour Check In: Once a new round is paired all players will have 3 days to complete the match with their opponent. You MUST complete check in and initiate contact with your opponent within the first 24 hours. If you are missing matches/check-ins or are non-responsive to messages from your opponent, you may be dropped without warning at the organizer's discretion.

Going First/Second: The winner of the coin flip decides who goes first for Game 1.  For Games 2 & 3, the loser of the prior game gets to decide who goes first.  (In cases where the winner of the previous game wins the coin flip and selects the wrong option by accident, the opponent is entitled to request a restart of the affected game.)

Game Loss Due to Connectivity/App Issues or Player Mistakes: It is league policy that each game that is initiated should count toward the match outcome. Some unfortunate situations may arise during gameplay — a player’s game may end or become unresponsive due to internet or app issues, the player may choose the wrong deck, etc. In those cases, that player should accept the game loss.

Incomplete Matches: At the end of a scheduled round, any incomplete matches will be automatically scored a double loss (or tie where applicable).  If one player was primarily responsible for the match not being completed (examples: lack of reasonable communication, insufficient availability to schedule a the match, leaving in the middle of a best-of-3 set, etc), the organizer is permitted to give their opponent the victory.

Team Drops: In the event that a player drops or is disqualified from the event, their teammates can continue in the event as a team of 2 (the third BO3 match will be counted as a loss). Once 2 individuals from a team have dropped or been disqualified, that team is automatically eliminated from the tournament.

Family Friendly Community: We welcome players of all ages. You are expected to conduct yourself appropriately and keep discussions polite. Inappropriate content in the form of usernames, language used in chat, or in any other context is subject to removal from the event.

Need Help?: If you have any questions or concerns during the event, use the "Request a Judge" button here on Limitless or get in touch with @rabidragon on Discord.
