HOW TO PLAY

  • Matches are played on the Pokémon TCG Pocket application.

  • This event features flexible 3-Day Rounds and will progress over the course of several weeks. You will have three days to coordinate and complete your match against each opponent.

  • It is highly recommended that all players take screenshots of their match victory screens.

  • Please read all details below for more information about the tournament's structure and policies.

DECK RULES

It's Pauper! It's Singleton! It's... PINGLETON:

1. Your deck may not have any two cards with the same name, except for Poké Ball and Professor's Research.

For example, you could bring one Genetic Apex Magmar, or one Mythical Island Magmar, or one Space-Time Smackdown Magmar, but not two Magmars of any kind.

Just to be absolutely clear: you can and should bring two Poké Ball and two Professor's Research.

2. All Pokémon in your deck must be 2-diamond rarity or less.

Alternate printings of 1-diamond and 2-diamond cards are fine. Additionally, the following promo Pokémon are also allowed:

  • Mankey (P-A 14)
  • Haunter (P-A 17)
  • Jigglypuff (P-A 22)
  • Snivy (P-A 27)
  • Eevee (P-A 30)
  • Misdreavus (P-A 38)
  • Nosepass (P-A 45)
  • Staraptor (P-A 47)

You must submit a decklist prior to the start time. You will use that deck for the duration of the event.

STRUCTURE

  • Swiss System: You will be paired with a new opponent each round and your goal is to earn as many match/set wins as possible.

    • A match win is worth 1 point.
    • A match loss or draw is worth 0 pts.
  • Top Cut: At the end of the Swiss period, the top players will advance to a single-elimination bracket.

  • Best-of-3: All matches in this tournament are best-of-three games. This means you will play up to three games against each opponent; the first player to win two games is declared the match winner.

3-Day Rounds | 24-Hour Check-In Period

  • Once a new round is paired all players will have 3 DAYS to complete the match with their opponent.

  • You must CHECK IN within the first 24 hours of each round. Go to your dashboard and click the check in button. If you don't check in on time, the system will give you a loss for the round.

  • You should CONTACT YOUR OPPONENT ON DISCORD within the first 24 hours of each round. There will be a player directory provided for each event in the #organizer-updates channel so that you can easily find your opponent’s Discord name. If you fail to make contact on time or are not communicating with your opponent in a productive manner, you may receive a loss for the round.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES

Proof of Match Result: It is recommended that players take a screenshot of the victory screen for each game. You should keep these until the end of the tournament in case there is a dispute. In addition, Players should take screenshots of the game board and/or Battle Log if they believe their opponent has broken the gameplay rules.

Incomplete Matches: At the end of a scheduled round, any incomplete matches will be marked a double loss. If one player was primarily responsible for the match not being completed (examples: lack of reasonable communication, insufficient availability to schedule a the match, leaving in the middle of a best-of-3 set, etc), the other player may receive a win-by-default.

Connectivity Issues: It is our policy that each game that is started should count toward the match outcome. A game officially starts at the coin flip. If a player’s game becomes unresponsive due to internet or app issues, that player should accept the game loss. If players get an error during the initial match connection (before the coin flip), that game is not considered to have been started and you should try again with no impact to the match results.

Illegal Decklist: If a player submits a deck that does not comply with the rules, they will be dropped from the event. There are no changes to decklists once the event has started.

Game Loss due to Incorrect Deck: If the player is using the wrong deck, they should take the loss for that single game and then complete the remainder of the best-of-3 match using the correct deck.

Tie Games: When a game ends in a tie, the player who had more points gets credit for the win. If both players had the same number of points, replay that game.

Dropping from the Event: If you no longer wish to be paired in future rounds, please go to your dashboard and click the red "Drop"button.

Missed Check In: If you miss a check in by mistake, you can still play the round if your opponent agrees to battle. Contact a Judge to record the result of your match. However, if you missed a check-in and then are entirely inactive on Limitless and the Discord server for the whole round, you will be dropped from the tournament.

Family Friendly Community: We welcome players of all ages. You are expected to conduct yourself appropriately and keep discussions polite. Inappropriate content in the form of usernames, language used in chat, or in any other context is subject to removal from the event.

Staff Rulings: Any tournament staff for our league's events may take actions and make rulings consistent with the spirit of the game and in the best interest of fair play.

Need Help?: If you have any questions or concerns during the event, use the "Request a Judge" button here on Limitless or get in touch with @Tournament Staff on Discord. Since this is a flexible schedule event, please allow a few hours for a response.
