TIMELINE OF EVENTS

30 Minutes Prior to Start Time:

  • Registration will open for all players. Click the "Register now" button to sign up for the event.
  • The custom deck rules will be revealed under the "Deck Rules" section below. Submit your decklist via the dashboard. You can build your 20-card Pocket deck using the Deck Builder feature and copy/paste it into the decklist submission form.

At the Published Start Time:

  • Registration and Decklist Submission closes.
  • Decklists will be checked to ensure they comply with the rules. Only those who submitted a valid decklist by the deadline will be included in the event. Other players will automatically be dropped.
  • You have 10 minutes for final preparations. Make sure your game client is updated to the latest version and please set the deck you created for this event as your active deck!

10 Minutes After the Published Start Time:

  • Gameplay will begin. Please keep your tournament dashboard open during the entire event. You are required to check in and promptly begin your match each round.
  • The Swiss portion of the event is expected to last about 1 hour and 25 minutes.
  • Top Cut immediately follows and is expected to last another 35 minutes.

DECK RULES

“A is for Abra…”

  • Each one of the 20 cards in your deck must start with a different letter of the alphabet.
  • Your deck must include at least 8 Pokémon.
  • Every Pokémon in your deck must be able to be put into play.

SPEED PLAY RULE

If your in-game timer drops below 16:00, you lose!

That means once a player's timer displays 15:59 (or less) time remaining, they should credit their opponent with the victory.

Most games will end the usual way by a player earning 3 points in battle; however this speed rule adds an additional win condition. Players should take screenshots as proof of the game state with timers visible when a game win/loss occurs due to this speed play rule.

STRUCTURE

Swiss w/ Top Cut | BO1 | 12-Minute Rounds | 3-Minute Check-In Period

  • All matches in this tournament are Best-of-1 (you play a single game against your opponent).

  • You will be paired with a new opponent each round.

    • A match win = 1 point.
    • Any other result (incomplete match, loss, or draw) = 0 pts.
  • Once a new round is paired all players will have 12 minutes to complete their match with their opponent.

  • You MUST click the yellow check in button within the first 3 minutes of the round. Then you should coordinate the match password with your opponent and begin gameplay immediately. Players who are late and/or non-responsive will receive a match loss.

  • It's important to keep your dashboard open at all times during the event.

  • At the end of the Swiss phase, the top 4 players in standings will immediately advance to a single-elimination bracket.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES

Proof of Match Result: It is recommended that players take a screenshot of the victory details screen for each game. You should keep these until the end of the tournament in case there is a dispute. If two players disagree on the outcome of a game and neither has proof, it will be scored a double loss.

Check In Policy: CHECK IN is required for each individual round. If you are not present and communicating with your opponent within the first 5 minutes, you'll receive the game loss. In an effort to ensure as many players as possible are paired with active opponents, those who fail to check in with no sign of being present may be dropped without warning. If you miss the start of a round by accident but still intend to play in future rounds, it's your responsibility to contact the organizer/judge and make them aware that you wish to continue in the event.

Connectivity Issues: It is our policy that each game that is started should count toward the match outcome. A game officially starts at the coin flip. If a player’s game becomes unresponsive due to internet or app issues, that player should accept the game loss. If players get an error during the initial match connection (before the coin flip), that game is not considered to have been started and you should try again with no impact to the match results.

Incomplete Matches: At the end of a scheduled round, any incomplete matches will be automatically scored a draw. This is equivalent to a double loss, so there is no benefit to either player in not completing the match on time.

Illegal Decklist: If a player submits a deck that does not comply with the rules, they will be dropped from the event. There are no changes to decklists once the event has started.

Dropping from the Event: If you no longer wish to play, please use the red "Drop" button on your dashboard so that you are not paired with an opponent in any future rounds. Thank you!

Family Friendly Community: We welcome players of all ages. You are expected to conduct yourself appropriately and keep discussions polite. Inappropriate content in the form of usernames, language used in chat, or in any other context is subject to removal from the event.

Staff Rulings: Any tournament staff for our league's events may take actions and make rulings consistent with the spirit of the game and in the best interest of fair play.

Need Help?: If you have any questions or concerns during the event, use the "Request a Judge" button here on Limitless or get in contact @rabidragon on Discord.
