Vault of Gym Leader Challenge | GLC Monthly #1
1. Click here (https://gymleaderchallenge.com/) for a full explanation of Gym Leader Challenge Your deck must follow Gym Leader Challenge rules. All games will be played through our discord server, via webcam, and your Limitless table number will match the voice channel for your game. To call a judge, message in the #judge channel with your table number and a judge will join when possible.
2. English Communication Requirement To ensure clear communication with opponents and judges, English must be used during matches and judge interactions.
If you are unable to communicate in English, please notify staff in advance. Our staff may speak multiple languages, but this should not be assumed. Use a translator if necessary.
Penalty: Warning → Ban if repeatedly ignored
3. Respect for Staff & Players All tournaments are run voluntarily and free of charge by @.ancane and the staff team. Because of this, all participants are expected to treat staff and fellow players with respect at all times. Disrespectful or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
4. Insults, Hate Speech, or Disrespectful Conduct Any homophobic, racist, hateful, or otherwise disrespectful communication—whether on Limitless, Discord, or any related platform—will result in immediate disqualification.
Depending on the severity of the behavior, the player may also be banned from all future events.
Judges may penalize any behavior considered unsportsmanlike toward opponents, judges, or staff.
Penalty: Disqualification and possible permanent ban
5. During a Judge Call When a judge is called, answer all questions clearly and avoid unnecessary arguments. Please wait patiently for the ruling. If a player is being disruptive, a judge may mute them in the call temporarily to hear one side of the issue.
A judge’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
6. Missed Check-In Players are fully responsible for checking in at their assigned table. If a player forgets or misses check-in, no corrective action can be taken. Check-in status overrides judge rulings, and missing it automatically counts as a loss.
If a technical bug prevents you from checking in, you must notify a judge immediately.
Beginning play in Discord does not replace checking in on Limitless; if you fail to check in without reporting it, that is a game loss. If your opponent does not check-in, you have the responsibility for calling a judge; if you are clearly knowledgeable about the failed check-in, that could result in a double game loss or loss of the player who failed to alert the affected person.
Penalty: • Loss for missed check-in • Double loss if both players miss check-in
7. Incorrect Deck List If a player notices an incorrect deck list during match setup, the match may be restarted if the affected player places their hand on the mat, clearly visible to the camera and calls a judge over to confirm.
If the issue is discovered after the match has started, the player must immediately call a judge.
Penalty: • Match restart if discovered during setup • Immediate loss if discovered after turn one
8. Crashes If Discord bugs out and crashes you, you will get an immediate game loss. Unfortunately there is no way to confirm that the gamestate stayed the same while the camera was off. If it is within 10 minutes of start (game timer 25:00), both players can agree to restart. If it is after that time, you can still agree to restart, but if the game goes to time, the affected player gets a game loss instead of the game going to a tie.
Penalty: • Loss for the affected player • Match restart only during setup with mutual agreement
9. Slow Play If you believe your opponent is intentionally playing slowly, you must immediately call a judge. A judge will join the voice channel, and if possible stay to watch the gameplay. A recording of at least 2 minutes with little to no actions being taken, including multiple failed deck searches, will help with the investigation.
All slow-play reports must be made promptly. Any ruling or penalty is entirely at the judge’s discretion and is final.
Warning: Severe cases may lead to disqualification or a ban from future events.
10. Round Time Expiration If the round timer expires, the match result will automatically be recorded as a tie.
Any request for an exception or time extension must be made early enough for the Head Judge to review before the next round begins.
If a time extension is granted, do not clear the judge request, as it serves as a reminder for tournament staff.
If (due to a crash) a game is restarted after the 25:00 minute mark of a round and the round time expires, the player affected by the crash will receive a game loss.
11. Intentional Ties Players are allowed to mutually agree to a tie, however in this 3 round tournament it serves little purpose.
12. Prizing All prizing is distributed through Discord. Please join the provided Discord link to receive your codes.
Prize Breakdown:
1st — 10 Codes 2nd - 7 Codes 3rd- 5 Codes 4th - 3 Codes 5th-8th - 1 Code
Note: Tournament rounds may be increased if the player count is higher than expected. Will cap at 4, and the change will be available to view on Limitless by 5 minutes before the tournament starts.
