📋 Decklist Procedures
📜 Submission Specifics
- 🔄 decklists and energy may be edited freely BEFORE the tournament starts
- 🔒 once the tournament begins, your submitted decklist — including energy — is FINAL and must be used for the entire event
- 🚫 changing cards or energy after the tournament begins without staff authorization is prohibited
⚠️ Decklist Penalties
🎴 Alternate Art Cards — alternate art versions of the same functional card are permitted. Functionally different cards or an incorrect energy selection count as an Incorrect Decklist.
⏪ Wrong Deck in Game 1 — reveal the relevant card(s) to verify the error and immediately call a judge. The game may be restarted with the correct registered deck if approved by the judge. No game loss is issued for the first approved occurrence.
❌ Repeated Violations — additional errors after a restart, or continued incorrect-decklist violations, may result in a Game Loss or additional penalties at staff discretion.
✔️ Check-Ins
☑️ Tournament Check-In
🕐 Tournament check-in opens 1–2 hours before the event begins and is required once before the tournament starts.
❌ Failing to check in results in removal from the tournament. Late registration may still be permitted at staff discretion with a default loss.
✅ Round Check-In
⏰ Players have 5 MINUTES after a Swiss round begins to check in.
❌ Failure to check in within the 5-minute window results in an automatic MATCH LOSS.
- if your opponent checks in but is unresponsive, request a judge rather than assuming they are a no-show
- do not falsely claim that an opponent is absent or unresponsive
- players are responsible for remaining available throughout Swiss
- if you can no longer continue the tournament, DROP from the event rather than becoming inactive
⚔️ Match Structure
🔁 Swiss Rounds — Best of 1
Swiss is the qualifying stage of the tournament. A loss does not eliminate you. Players continue through the scheduled Swiss rounds and compete for placement in the Top Cut.
🔀 Pairings
Players are paired against competitors with similar tournament records as Swiss progresses.
Pairings, standings, and results are managed through Limitless.
Players should verify their opponent and begin their match as soon as the round starts.
🎮 Match Format
- all Swiss matches are Best of 1 (Bo1)
- each Swiss round uses a 25-minute pacing window
- players must use their registered tournament decklist
- players may not change cards or energy between Swiss rounds
- alternate art versions of the same functional card remain permitted
⏰ Round Procedure
Once a round begins:
- Check in on Limitless within 5 minutes.
- Confirm that you are playing the correct opponent.
- Begin your match promptly.
- Play the match using your registered decklist.
- Report the result on Limitless immediately after the match.
- Remain available for the next round announcement.
📣 The next Swiss round begins once the current round has concluded and tournament staff have finalized outstanding rulings/results.
🏆 Match Reporting
Players are responsible for accurately reporting their match results.
📸 Screenshot your victory screen whenever possible, including your opponent's name. This may be used as evidence if a result is disputed.
🚫 Falsifying match results is strictly prohibited.
This includes:
- reporting a win that did not occur
- intentionally reporting an incorrect score
- falsely claiming an opponent failed to appear
- coordinating with another player to manipulate standings
- intentionally manipulating tournament results or tiebreakers
Suspected result manipulation should be reported to Plasma Staff immediately.
🤝 Concessions
A player may voluntarily concede a match.
A concession must be freely made by the conceding player and must not involve bribery, prizes, payment, threats, or agreements designed to manipulate tournament standings.
Once properly reported, a concession is treated as the match result.
📞 Swiss Match Disputes
If players disagree about:
- the winner of a match
- a reported result
- a disconnect
- deck legality
- an opponent's attendance
- a game-related ruling
STOP and call a judge through Limitless.
Do not continue arguing with your opponent or attempt to create your own ruling.
Plasma Judges will review the available evidence and make the final determination.
🚪 Dropping From Swiss
Players are expected to remain available for the entire Swiss portion of the event.
If you need to leave or can no longer participate:
DROP from the tournament rather than simply becoming inactive.
Repeated no-shows or abandoning the tournament without dropping may affect eligibility for future Plasma events at staff discretion.
📊 Swiss Standings & Top Cut Qualification
After all scheduled Swiss rounds are completed, players are ranked according to the tournament platform's standings and tiebreaker system.
The highest-ranked eligible players advance to the Top Cut according to the Player Scaling chart below.
Swiss Bo1 ➜ Single Elimination Bo3
🎯 Top Cut — Single Elimination, Best of 3
🎦 Discord Screen Share — Discord PoV screen share is REQUIRED for all Top Cut matches. Failure to comply may result in a game loss, match loss, or DQ at staff discretion.
💀 Single Elimination — matches are Bo3. Losing the match eliminates you from the bracket.
⏱️ Pacing — Top Cut rounds are untimed and do not use normal Swiss round check-in.
⏰ Late Players — for every 5 minutes a player fails to appear for their MATCH, they receive a GAME LOSS.
🎦 Top 4 — wait for staff instructions before playing. Top 4 matches may be held for feature coverage and played according to caster/staff direction.
⚖️ Judges and Match Rulings
📞 Primary Communication — call a judge through Limitless first for any match-related issue.
⏳ Response Times — judges will respond as soon as possible. Call a judge immediately when an issue occurs rather than waiting until after the match.
📸 Admissible Evidence — screenshot every victory screen, including your opponent's name, whenever possible.
🗨️ Consultations — for complex situations, the judge team may consult before issuing a ruling.
⚖️ Final Authority — Plasma Staff and Judges have final authority over tournament rulings, penalties, disputes, and unusual situations not explicitly covered by these rules.
❌ Incorrect / False Match Reports
Knowingly submitting a false match result is considered a serious tournament violation.
⚠️ If a match result is disputed and neither player can provide sufficient evidence for staff to determine the correct result, the match may be ruled a DOUBLE GAME LOSS at judge discretion.
🤝 Tie Resolution
Swiss
If Pokémon TCG Pocket records the game as a tie, players should report the result according to the tournament platform's available reporting options or immediately contact a judge if the proper result is unclear.
Do not independently replay a disputed or tied Swiss match unless instructed by staff.
Top Cut
📝 A GAME TIE counts as both players receiving a GAME WIN for purposes of determining the Bo3 result.
1️⃣ Early Tie — if Game 1 ends in a tie, the winner of Game 2 is the MATCH WINNER.
2️⃣ Late Tie — if Game 2 ties after a conclusive Game 1, the winner of Game 1 is the MATCH WINNER.
3️⃣ Full Tie — if Game 3 ties while the match is effectively 1–1, additional games are played as necessary because Top Cut requires a winner.
💀 Single Elimination
🔂 A player must advance from every Top Cut match. Additional games are played as needed until a winner is determined.
📶 Connection Issues, Turn-0 Situations, and External Factors
Plasma cannot control external factors such as internet providers, devices, application stability, power outages, or weather. These procedures exist to keep the tournament moving fairly.
⚠️ Failed Game Start — if the application fails before a game properly begins, the game may be restarted. Contact a judge if there is disagreement.
📡 Disconnect — if a disconnect occurs during a game and the game produces a Victory Screen, the player shown as the winner on the Victory Screen is awarded the game.
📸 Players should screenshot the Victory Screen whenever possible.
⚖️ Situations where the game does not clearly establish a winner should be brought to a judge.
🚫 External Factors — personal responsibilities, weather, scheduling conflicts, device problems, or other outside circumstances generally cannot be used to indefinitely delay the tournament.
If you cannot continue playing within the tournament schedule, please drop from the event.
🚫 Player Conduct and Rule Violations
⚠️ Plasma does not tolerate toxic behavior, harassment, unsportsmanlike conduct, cheating, intentional match manipulation, or rule sharking.
🔍 Behavior and violations are evaluated at judge discretion. Minor and correctable behavior may receive a warning.
🔨 Repeated or severe violations may result in:
- game loss
- match loss
- disqualification
- removal from the current tournament
- suspension or bans from future Plasma events
- additional monitoring against ban evasion or re-entry
👍 Be respectful toward players, judges, tournament organizers, sponsors, casters, and staff — including during disagreements.
