The Dark League Tournament | REGIONAL SPECIAL!

Welcome to The Dark League! This is a (mostly) weekly tournament that we organise for players to battle with each other. This time we are shifting the structure a bit for this tournament with using 3 PHASES that will be played through 2 days, more details about how this tournament works as well its structure will be listed below within the tournament details. Good luck to all players who sign up and submitted a deck.

FYI: RULER OF THE SKIES CARDS ARE LEGAL IN THIS TOURNAMENT

We have a whopping prize pool totalling $130 USD that will be distributed amongst the top 4 players at the end of the tournament. Further donations are more than welcome to help hype up the tournaments and the community, this may include either card or cash prizes!

For this tournament there are 3 PHASES, Each phase will be explained below:

DAY 1 - August 1st 14:00 BST

Phase 1 - 8 Swiss Rounds

Each round you will be parred with someone with same or similar score to you, You will have to fight using the given code by limitless and record a win/ loss or tie depending if you rise victorious or not. Every win will score you 3 points and a tie will score you 1 point, you will need a total of 16 points to proceed with the next phase and qualify for the next day!

This phase will be a BO3 (Best of 3) round with 40 minutes to play at least 3 games, the first person to win 2 games within the 3 games provided will win that round and carry on with the next round.

DAY 2 - August 2nd 14:00 BST

Phase 2 - 4 Swiss Rounds

If you have qualified for Day 2, you will be able to play this phase, the structure is the same from Phase 1 where each round you will be parred with someone with same or similar score to you, You will have to fight using the given code by limitless and record a win/ loss or tie depending if you rise victorious or not. Every win will score you 3 points and a tie will score you 1 point, you will need a total of 28 points to proceed with the next phase and qualify for the final phase! (You will retain the points gained from phase 1.)

This phase will also be a BO3 (Best of 3) round with 40 minutes to play at least 3 games, the first person to win 2 games within the 3 games provided will win that round and carry on with the next round.

Phase 3 - Single Elimination Bracket

Every round you will be matched with an opponent and will have yet again another BO3, if you are to loose a round, you are officially eliminated from the tournament however if you emerge victorious, you proceed to the next bracket and battle another opponent until you loose or become the final winner of the tournament.

There is no check in window for this phase however if there is no communication to allow a game to be played for 5 minutes, the opposing player of that round will gain a win for a game, this continues until a game is finally played or if the opposing player has 2 wins, making them advance to the next bracket.

Ties may be expected during games and we have a formula to decide what happens when certain games in a round results in a tie and will be explained below:

If the first game was a tie, each player gains a win and automatically proceeds to the 3rd game which will decide the victor.

If the second game was a tie, the victor of game 1, wins the whole round.

If the third game was a tie, the result of the whole round will be a tie OR if both players agree, they may battle a sudden death game if there is enough time. This consists of the player only needing one point to win the sudden death game. However if the round timer does run out, the round result will be marked a tie if no agreement is met between both players.

Provide proof of victory if asked by a judge in the discord server, If we cant see it, we can't help you

No rude comments regarding homophobia, transphobia, race etc..., consistent comments will lead you to be banned

Request a judge when one is actually needed

Be patient upon waiting for the next round

Be respectful to your opponents and other players as well as the judges

Check In + Rounds + Searching

Check in to every round to make sure that your opponent knows your present

If matches are played without people checking in, the result of the match can still be counted however other rules will apply as normal

If both players have checked in, however no match is found after 5 minutes of checking in, please request a judge to sort out the issue

ALL Rounds that take over 40 minutes, will be considered as a tie

Intentional Ties are allowed if both players agree to it

Sudden Death games are allowed if you tie however only if your opponent agrees on it, otherwise the match result will be considered as a tie.

Round 0 Wins are void, they will not count as a win

Top Cut

Please stream your game (if you can, in the discord server) for casting during Twitch Streams

Please be patient during Top Cut, if your opponent is missing or is not replying, request a judge to sort out the issue

After 5 minutes with no sight of your opponent gives you the right to have the victory of one round after a judge accepts it

Top Cut ties in the first or second round will serve as normal (both opponents get a point).

Top Cut ties in the third round will result in a sudden death (rematch and first point awarded will win the round)

Prize Collection/ Processing If you are one of the winners of a prize pool, DM @moonlightshurikenvt from the discord server to process the prize

You have 3 days to reach out for your prize, failure to do so will lead to the prize being donated for the next tournament

Any money won has to be sent via PayPal/ Venmo
