Champions Collective #13

13th tournament of our virtual circuit, open to everyone, even beginners!

We want to introduce new players to the way tournaments are played, without having to travel and spend more money.

You must join the Discord.

The winner of this tournament will be automatically invited to the invitational tournament in August.

Rules

  • Joining the Discord server is essential to keep up with round announcements. Your lateness is your responsibility and you will be penalized with an automatic loss after 7 minutes without having clicked the "Check-in" button on your match page.

  • Two consecutive late arrivals resulting in an automatic loss = drop from the tournament.

  • You may join the tournament starting from round 2 only if you are pre-registered and have submitted a valid team; however, you will start at 0-1.

  • You must register a valid team for the M-B Regulation. This team must not be modified throughout the entire tournament, from the Pokémon species down to the statistics.

  • Not submitting a valid team at the start of the tournament = automatic drop.

  • The format used is the Doubles format.

  • The tournament will be played in Swiss rounds, followed by a single-elimination phase. The number of Swiss rounds and the number of players qualifying for the single-elimination phase varies depending on the total number of players.

  • No cheating (or attempts), toxicity, or any other action deemed harmful to the organization of the tournament will be tolerated. Penalties range from a warning to a ban from our tournaments, including disqualification.

  • The staff may make preventive decisions, with the aim of ensuring a healthy organization. If we are aware of past cases that could harm the smooth running of our tournament/circuit, we may prohibit participation in all of our tournaments.

  • If you win a game, take a screenshot of the victory screen with both usernames displayed. No need to send it until you are asked. Staff decisions are made at their discretion based on the information provided.

  • In case of a no-show, never submit the victory on your side, wait for the check-in timer to run out or for a staff member to do it if needed. The victory is automatic if you are the only one who checked in once the timer has expired. Submitting a victory manually under these conditions could be considered an attempt at cheating (result manipulation).

  • You are allowed to grant your opponent more time than planned, and you are also allowed to refuse. If this is not respected, contact a judge to time how long is being taken. After 5 minutes: game loss. After 10 minutes: round loss.

  • You can drop by asking a staff member to remove you from the tournament, or by doing it directly from your Limitless Dashboard.

  • If you have not given your consent for players other than staff to watch your games, contact the staff if your refusal of spectators has not been respected. A new private room will have to be made and must not be shared.

For any information on how a tournament works on this platform, feel free to check our guide.

Rules regarding disconnection

Pokémon Champions allows a match to continue after a disconnection; however, the game may select actions automatically if you don't have time to return.

In case of a total disconnection/inability to return, contact the staff.

Instructions in case of a total disconnection

Depending on the number of remaining Pokémon:

  • 4-4, 4-3, 4-2, 3-3, 3-2, 2-2, 2-1, 1-1 = Restart the game
  • 4-1, 3-1 = The player with the most Pokémon wins the game

If you know that the game had a disconnection, even if you are not the one affected by it, take a screenshot or even a video capture of the last 30 seconds so that the staff can analyze the state of your game.

Rules regarding TeamList errors

If you or your opponent are not careful when submitting your team on Limitless, this can cause fair-play issues. It is crucial not to give false information about your team, which could illegitimately change the course of a match. However, it is preferable to give a chance to players who made an unintentional error, but only if it no longer has an impact on the match.

  • Before the tournament starts: VERIFY THAT YOUR TEAMLIST HAS THE SAME INFORMATION AS YOUR TEAM.
  • Penalty for any TeamList error: Game Loss on the current game, unless clear communication was made BEFORE the match.
  • Penalty for any failure to communicate (to the opponent) about a TeamList error: Game Loss on the current game or on the last game of that match.

If you notice an error in the TeamList, don't wait until your match is over, call a staff member immediately, take a video capture of the last 30 seconds on your Switch, and don't touch anything else.

  • The game may play itself while you don't touch anything, that's not a problem: if there is a recognized TeamList error or a failure to communicate about a past error => you win the game no matter what.
  • Calling a judge at the end of a game will not result in a Game Loss. We put this rule in place to avoid abuses such as: "I saw the error but I'll only request the Game Loss if I'm at a disadvantage." Exceptions: last turn of the match (video capture mandatory) or failure to communicate about a past error.

If you don't take the trouble to immediately report an error and take a video capture, you will not be able to obtain the game loss applied to your opponent.

What should I do if I have a TeamList error?

Feel free to notify the staff as soon as possible to avoid a game loss.

You have the option to keep playing what is in your team, if the error on your list is handicapping (example: a Pokémon, or even the entire team, rendered unusable due to this error) and if you clearly communicate the error on your Team List at every match. Failing to do so = game loss every time it happens. The staff will systematically record any teamlist error and its correction on their side in order to verify.

If the error is not deemed handicapping, you must play what is on the teamlist.
