Top Deck Card Shop Weekly Pokémon TCG Online Tournament Rules
Welcome to Top Deck Card Shop’s Weekly Pokémon TCG Tournament!
This event is a place to showcase your deck choice, whether it’s meta or rogue—no judgment here. Our goal is to provide a safe, competitive, and enjoyable environment for all players. By entering this event, you agree to follow the rules below, the current Pokémon TCG Standard Rules, and all directions issued by the Judge Team.
- Tournament Format
Format: Pokémon TCG Standard Structure: Best-of-1 Swiss Top Cut: No Top Cut Platform: PTCG Live ONLY Set Legality: The latest set becomes legal for this event once it is live and playable on PTCG Live Timer Requirement MAKE SURE TIMERS ARE ON
- Player Conduct / Attitude & Respect
All players are expected to conduct themselves in a pleasant, respectful, and sportsmanlike manner throughout the event.
A simple “hello” at the start of the match or “ggs” at the end goes a long way and helps maintain a welcoming environment.
The following will not be tolerated: -Degrading or disrespectful comments -Harassment or abusive behavior -Unsportsmanlike conduct -Any behavior that creates a hostile environment for other players
Any player found engaging in this type of behavior may be disqualified from the current event and may also be banned from future Top Deck Card Shop tournaments.
- Slow Play / Match Delays
If your opponent is suspected of slow play, you may request a judge call and/or a time extension.
Because slow play can be difficult to judge in an online environment, players should be prepared to provide supporting evidence if requested by the Judge Team. Acceptable forms of evidence may include:
-Screenshots -Screen recordings -Links to livestreams -Going live in the Discord server to document the issue
If you suspect malicious slow play, you must request a judge call before your game ends.
Match Start Delays
If your match does not begin within a reasonable amount of time (within 5 minutes of both players checking in), you may also request a time extension from a judge.
- Tournament Check-In / Round Check-In
All players must check in to the tournament.
Players must also check in for each round. Failure to check in for your round will result in a game loss.
Check-In Issues
If you experience a problem checking in, you must notify a judge as soon as possible.
Check-in times may be adjusted if:
proof is provided, and the issue is determined by the Judge Team to be genuine
If you do not notify a judge, check in late, and attempt to play after an auto-win has already been awarded, the auto-win will remain in place for your opponent as compensation for the delay.
- Disconnect Policy
If you disconnect during your match, you will receive a game loss unless the disconnect occurs within 5 minutes of the beginning of the round.
If the disconnect happens within that opening 5-minute window, the match may be restarted from the beginning.
If you have any issues involving an early-round disconnect, contact a judge immediately.
- Card Legality / Standard Bans / PTCG Live Bugs Regular Pokémon TCG Standard format bans are in effect. Tournament rulings will be based on what is currently functional within PTCG Live. If a card or interaction is bugged in-game but remains playable on the platform, it will be treated as legal for tournament purposes, as staff cannot physically spectate every match.
- Tournament Progression / Standings
This tournament will continue until there is a stand-alone winner.
As a result, depending on standings and match outcomes, the tournament may occasionally be cut short by a round.
- Incorrect Deck Selection
If you accidentally select the wrong deck at the start of the round, you must alert your opponent immediately and restart the match using the correct deck.
- Ruleset
All matches are subject to the current Pokémon TCG Standard Rules in addition to the Top Deck Card Shop tournament rules listed above.
- Judge Contact / Questions
If you have any problems, questions, or need a ruling during the event, please contact the Judge Team through:
