Bo3 Doubles • Swiss + Top Cut • 64 Player Cap

Welcome to the Pokémon Champions VGC Open, a competitive doubles tournament designed with Asian and Oceanic players in mind.

Many community tournaments are hosted around North American or European schedules, making participation difficult for players from Asia-Pacific regions. This event aims to provide a competitive experience at a more accessible regional time while welcoming players from all regions.

Whether you're a longtime VGC competitor, a newcomer to Pokémon Champions, or a mobile player looking to enter your first tournament, this event is open to everyone.

Compete through Swiss rounds on Day 1 and earn your place in the Top Cut on Day 2 to battle for prizes and tournament glory.

Tournament Structure

Day 1 – Swiss Rounds

All registered players will participate in Swiss rounds.

  • Format: Pokémon Champions VGC Doubles
  • Match Format: Best-of-3 (Bo3)
  • Maximum Players: 64
  • Players continue playing every round regardless of record.

⚠️ Joining the Discord server is mandatory for participation. All tournament communication, rulings, announcements, and scheduling will be handled through Discord.

Swiss rounds will be based on total attendance:

Day 2 – Top Cut

The highest-ranked players from Swiss advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket.

  • All Top Cut matches are Best-of-3.
  • Winners advance until a Tournament Champion is crowned.

Team Rules

  • Teams must be legal under the current Pokémon Champions VGC Doubles ruleset.
  • Players must use legal Pokémon, moves, abilities, and items.
  • Team changes are not permitted after the tournament begins.
  • Report of Open Teamsheet Violations will result in game losses and immediate remedy will be required to continue.
  • Any use of exploits, cheats, modified game data, or unintended game mechanics may result in immediate disqualification.

Match Procedures

Before the Match

  • Be present and ready when pairings are posted.
  • Check ins are required before the start of tournament and at the start of every round.
  • Contact your opponent promptly.
  • Failure to appear within the designated time limit may result in a match loss.

During the Match

  • All matches are played as Best-of-3 sets.
  • Players are expected to maintain good sportsmanship.
  • Harassment, toxic behavior, intentional stalling, or unsporting conduct may result in penalties.

Reporting Results

  • Report results immediately after the match concludes.
  • Both players are responsible for verifying the final score.
  • Tournament staff may request screenshots or additional evidence if a dispute occurs.

Tiebreakers

Swiss standings and qualification for Top Cut will be determined using standard Swiss tiebreaker system.


Organizer Rulings

Tournament organizers reserve the right to issue warnings, game losses, match losses, or disqualifications where necessary.

All organizer decisions are final.
