Welcome to the Girly Pop Cup: The Ho-Ohdown!

The Girly Pop Games is celebrating PRIDE by hosting a Pokémon VGC competition for LGBTQ+ players of all skill levels! Finally, a tournament that isn’t just for content creators!

This event is happening LIVE at the Girly Pop Games Twitch Channel, and we're partnering with NoraInTheFuture's PKMNpride to raise money for the Lambert House LGBTQ+ Youth Center in Seattle! Oh, and did we mention there’s a small prize for the winner?!

Charity Fundraiser, Prize & Entry Requirements

To enter this tournament we require a $10 entrance fee that will be donated to charity and a receipt of your donation, which we will verify using our Tiltify account. (The blue hyperlink will take you to the donation page.)

The winner of this tournament, though, will receive a $50 Steam or Nintendo eShop gift card; your choice!

Pokémon Usage

This tournament will run in Pokémon Champions using Pokémon available in Season M-2. (Check HERE to see which Pokémon are available to use.)

However, we have two (2) special clauses! Firstly, your team must include only one of the Top 15 most-used Pokémon in DOUBLE BATTLES for Season M-2 (as of May 31st, 2026). Below is a list of restricted Pokémon, according to this clause:

3. Kingambit
4. Charizard
5. Sneasler
6. Whimsicott
7. Incineroar
8. Farigiraf
9. Sinistcha
10. Sylveon
11. Archaludon
12. Aerodactyl
13. Pelipper
14. Glimmora
15. Dragonite

Secondly, your team should have a theme! We want you to showcase your most girly pop self! Some team compositions include the following, but feel free to come up with your own:

• Based on the colors of a Pride flag
• A mono-type team
• Pokémon of one specific color
• Genderless Pokémon

Competition Rules and Flow

To ensure you have a true VGC experience, we will use the same rules as the Pokémon World Championships! Our competition will happen in two parts:

Day 1 (June 20th) | Swiss Rounds — All players will be randomly divided into groups and play each other in a Best of 3. Whoever wins, gets a point! Each player will battle all other players in their group once. The player from each group with the most points moves on to the live finale.

Day 2 (June 27th @ 9am PT) | Live Finale — The Top 4 players will be paired randomly and participate in a best-of-three single-elimination bracket. These battles will be streamed live on the Girly Pop Games Twitch Channel.

Important Dates

The deadline to submit your team is Wednesday, June 17th, 11:59pm Pacific Time.

Please send your final team sheet by Thursday, June 18th, 11:59pm Pacific Time. This competition will be Open Team Sheet format. If you are unable to send us your team sheet on time, you will be disqualified from the competition.

Final Team Sheet

A valid team sheet must contain all the following information below:

• The six Pokémon being used
• Only one of the restricted Pokémon in Clause #1
• Abilities
• Held Items
• Moves
• A short description of the theme you chose for your team
