The Pocket World Tour

Welcome to the Pocket World Tour! Pokémon and trainers from around the world will arrive to compete in an all-out tag team battle royale! Fill your team roster with fighters from various different regions and combine their strength into one unstoppable force. Diversity is key in this event where the strongest trainers know how to expertly synergize the unique differences between each team member. Enlist the help of well-known trainers who can provide valuable insight about the region which they call home and further increase your tactical advantage over the opponent. The arena only requests three simple guidelines for each fighter to abide by upon stepping inside:

  • Battle using Pokémon native to at least four separate regions.
  • Allow at most one supporter to assist from each region represented by your team.
  • Refrain from using Pokémon ex while competing inside the arena

Good luck to all the fighters, and let the winner be crowned World Champion!

Deckbuilding Rules:

  • Each deck must contain cards that are native to 4 different regions. A Pokémon is considered native to the region that it is first introduced in. If a Pokémon received an evolution in a later game, that evolution will be treated as native to the game it was introduced in. For example, Zubat is a Kanto Pokémon while Crobat is a Johto Pokémon. Regional variants are treated as native to the region that they are from, not the region their base form is from.
  • Each deck can contain at most one supporter card native to the regions represented by your deck. 2 copies of Professor's Research are permitted. All other supporter cards not listed below are banned.
  • No ex Pokémon allowed

Players have 72 hours from the start of each round to complete their match. Discord will be used as the primary method of communication. The tournament will consist of 5 swiss rounds followed by an 8 player top cut. Matches will be held as a best of 3 battles. If a tie occurs, replay the match until a winner is decided. If a player encounters any questions or issues during the tournament please feel free to reach out to me or any of the other gym leaders for assistance. Good luck to all who are participating!
