Format & Card Legality

This event uses the RS–PK GLC format: a Gym Leader Challenge-style format played using the EX Ruby & Sapphire through EX Power Keepers card pool.

RS–PK GLC follows the core concept of GLC, but uses the rules and card pool of the RS–PK / ADV–PCG era rather than modern Expanded.

Deck Construction

Players may only include:

  • Pokémon of a single type
  • 1 copy of each card name, except basic Energy
  • Cards legal within the RS–PK card pool listed below

Type Restriction

When building your deck, choose one Pokémon type from the following:

  • Grass
  • Fire
  • Water
  • Lightning
  • Psychic
  • Fighting
  • Darkness
  • Metal
  • Colorless
Only Pokémon of your chosen type may be included in your deck.

Additional notes:

  • Dual-type Pokémon may be included if at least one of their types matches your chosen type.
  • Trainer cards that can be played as Colorless Basic Pokémon may be included in any deck, regardless of chosen type.

Singleton Rule

Except for basic Energy cards, you may include only 1 copy of each card with the same name in your deck.

Special Energy cards are also subject to this restriction. In particular:

  • Darkness Energy may only be included once.
  • Metal Energy may only be included once

Banned Cards

The following cards are not legal in RS–PK GLC:

  • Pokémon-ex
  • Pokémon Star

Spectating

Spectating must be enabled for all tournament matches. Players are allowed to spectate any match, but are asked not to comment on a match in progress in a way that could affect a player's decisions.

Late Players

In order to keep the tournament running, we ask players to begin their rounds as quickly as possible after they are posted. A player who has been queued for 5 minutes without an opponent must mark themselves the winner after confirming their opponent is not also queued.

Match Time Limits

To avoid unnecessary delays to the tournament, players may not extend match time if an opponent's game time expires. If your time expires, you lose the match, regardless of game state.

Game Crashes

Unfortunately, major errors—including game crashes—may occur during tournament play. If this happens, do not restart the match, as doing so may cause unnecessary delays or complicate resolution. Instead, immediately contact a tournament administrator.

Tournament staff will work to determine a resolution that is fair to all players. In cases where a game-breaking error affects all players (such as server outages or maintenance), the match will generally be ruled a draw. For errors that impact an individual match or player, the outcome and resolution will be determined at the discretion of tournament administration.

Tournament Conduct

UCS Mega Corp is committed to maintaining a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, and any form of hate speech or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

This includes, but is not limited to, comments made in chat, usernames, deck names, private messages related to the event, or any other conduct associated with tournament participation.

Engaging in prohibited behavior may result in immediate penalties, including but not limited to:

  • A warning
  • A forced drop from the tournament
  • A ban from future UCS Mega Corp events

All disciplinary actions are at the sole discretion of tournament administration, based on the severity and context of the behavior. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent bans without warning.

Players are expected to conduct themselves with sportsmanship and respect toward opponents, spectators, and tournament staff at all times.

Deck Lists

All players will submit a legal deck list to participate. Deck lists will be shown after the conclusion of the event.
