Tournament Rules & Procedures

Decklist Submission

  • Submission: All decklists must be submitted through Limitless.
  • Consistency: You must use the exact list submitted for the entire tournament.
  • Integrity: Using a decklist different from your submission is prohibited. If you notice your opponent using the wrong list, call a judge.
  • Sportsmanship: Rule sharking (e.g., complaining about minor card name variations or art differences for functionally identical cards) is strictly prohibited. Treat opponents with respect.

Tournament Check-in

  • Initial Check-in: Starts one hour before the tournament begins. Players who fail to check in will be dropped (though late registration may be possible).
  • Round Check-in: Check in for each round within the first five minutes. Only check in when you are ready to play.
  • No-Show Policy: If an opponent fails to check in within the five-minute window, call a judge.
  • Note: If you are communicating with your opponent and realize they simply forgot, please remind them. If both parties are communicating but one fails to check in before time, contact a judge.
  • Delays: Delaying a game after checking in can result in penalties. If an opponent is not present after check-in, call a judge; every five minutes late without prior approval results in a game loss.

Match Structure

  • Swiss Rounds: Played as Best-of-3 (BO3).
  • Time Limit: 50 minutes per match.
  • Ties: Occur if time expires while a game is still in progress.
  • Reporting: If a game finishes just before the timer runs out but you cannot enter the result, screenshot the result and request a judge. They will use the screenshot and check-in times to verify the completion.

Connection & Technical Issues

  • Pre-game: If connection issues occur before the game starts, simply try again.
  • Mid-game: If connection issues occur during a match, the player holding the Victory screen is awarded the win.
  • Client Issues: For freezing, crashing, or other client-side errors, a judge will determine the resolution based on game state and turns played.
  • Evidence: Always screenshot your victory screen. In the event of a dispute, a timestamped screenshot is the determining factor.
  • Restarts: You may ask your opponent for a restart. If both parties agree, you may request a judge to facilitate it.

Streaming

  • Permissions: You are allowed to stream your matches.
  • Best Practices: It is recommended to use a stream delay to prevent unfair advantages.
  • Penalties: Using outside information from a stream (hand information, advice) is forbidden. Proven stream sniping will lead to a DQ.

Communication & Conduct

  • Tournament Discord: Joining the Discord is required to receive schedule updates and communicate with judges.
  • Contacting Judges: Use only Limitless or official public Discord channels to contact staff.
  • Conduct: Be kind and polite to all players and judges. Rude behavior or refusal to follow instructions may lead to penalties.
  • Appeals: You may politely appeal a ruling to the Head Judge via the Limitless chat.
  • Top Cut: If asked to stream for the Top Cut, it is not mandatory—it is for the entertainment of others.
