Rules

Decklist Submission

  • Your decklist must be submitted on Limitless! This will be the only decklist allowed for the entire tournament.
  • Your deck must contain the correct energy types selected.
  • If you notice your opponent using a different decklist, please call a judge.
  • If YOU accidentally select the wrong deck, take proof (screenshot or video) and you may reveal a card to prove the mistake and restart the game with the correct deck. This only applies to the FIRST GAME of a series, PRIOR to your 2nd turn, after which bringing the wrong deck will count as a game loss.
  • Players must participate under the same username that entered upon submission.

Tournament Check-in

  • Check-in and decklist submission opens 1 hour before the tournament starts.

Round Check-in

  • Each round has a 5-minute check-in period.
  • If your opponent doesn’t show up within 5 minutes of both players checking in, with no communication, please contact a judge. Judge will give 2 MORE minutes for opponent to respond. If no response, that player will be given a loss.
  • If you’re chatting with your opponent and they haven’t checked in, kindly remind them. If they still don’t check in, call a judge.
  • Check-in overrides any action or decision by the Judge. Missing check-in is equivalent to losing the match. We understand it’s hard to accept a loss for this reason. In case of a bug preventing check-in, the player must report it to the judge as soon as possible. PENALTY: Loss due to missed Check-in / Double loss if both players miss Check-in.

Slow Play

  • If you determine that your opponent is Slow playing to delay the game past the round timer, & If the time difference between players is over 4 minutes, take a screenshot and report it on Discord. The player can then claim a win.

Swiss Rounds

  • Swiss rounds are played as BO1 matches lasting 20 minutes.
  • Each round includes a 5-minute check-in window.
  • Each round will be announced on discord. Join so you don't miss out on a match.
  • Next rounds start after ALL matches are completed and pairings are made.
  • Rounds may start early if all games are completed.
  • If your opponent doesn’t show up within 5 minutes of both players checking in, with no communication, please contact a judge. Judge will give 2 MORE minutes for opponent to respond. If no response, that player will be given a loss.
  • If your match hasn't been played yet and your opponent is responding in the chat, but opponent hasn't been searching for the match and the timer drops to 10 min remaining, please request a judge. The opponent will be given a Loss for the match. No excuses. The tournament and other competitors shall not be held up.
  • If the round timer is completed prior to a match report, then both players will be given an automatic LOSS. You have 15 minutes to play 1 game and report. We will not wait any longer for one match to finish if everyone else is done.

Top Cut Single Elimination Bracket

  • Top Cut is Single Elimination played in BO1 format.
  • You may start your match when the announcement is made on discord, or when the timer starts for next round.
  • THE FINALS MUST BE STREAMED IN DISCORD. Both Parties please be ready to screen share your match.
  • Not required this tournament, but for future tournaments, all other matches must be screen-shared, when asked, on Discord for the Live Stream & YT Vod in the near future. For this week #4, streaming matches in the discord server is not needed unless you'd like to.
  • If you'd like to stream your match, feel free to join the "Join to create gym" channel in discord. This will be greatly appreciated.

Ties

  • In the BO1 Swiss Rounds, matches incomplete within the 20 minute timer will receive an automatic Loss.
  • For complex situations or disputes, a judge will make a final ruling.
  • Tie Agreements IN THE FINAL ROUND are allowed to improve your chance to make the cut if both players agree to it. Please contact a judge to finalize this decision and award both players a tie point.

Connection Issues & Turn 0 Situations

  • If the provided match code doesn't work, simply create a new code to search.
  • If the game fails to start, simply restart it.
  • If a disconnect happens mid-game, the player with the Victory Screen will be awarded the win.

Contacting Judges

  • Please use the Limitless chat only to contact judges.
  • Communicate with the judge clearly and precisely in ENGLISH. Always answer the judge's questions. Avoid unnecessary arguments and always wait for the judge’s ruling. The judge’s ruling is ALWAYS FINAL and UNDISPUTABLE.
  • Always take a screenshot of your Victory Screen with a timestamp. Including the opponent's name, so you can quickly call a judge to resolve incorrect match reporting.
  • Be ready to provide screenshot or video of your proof to the Discord channel #Judge-Calls
  • If neither player has sufficient proof in a dispute, the match will be marked as a DGL (Double Game Loss).

Conduct and Rule Violations

  • Breaking rules, harassment, or any inappropriate behavior will result in penalties.
  • Please be respectful to other players and judges at all times.
  • If a player is caught or reported expressing homophobic, racist, disrespectful, or any other hate-related messages through Limitless Chat, Discord Chat, or any other form of communication, they will be disqualified from the ongoing tournament and, depending on the severity, banned from all future events. The judge reserves the right to evaluate any behavior considered disrespectful or unsportsmanlike toward the opponent, the judge, or anyone else.
