Notice

Player Requirements

  • Players must bring their own valid 60-card deck (Deck rules below)

  • It is highly preferable that players bring their own playing accessories (Dice, Playmat, Coin, etc.)

Deck Rules

Format

  • Standard: (SV: Base set) ---> (Mega Evolution: Ascended Heroes)

  • Regulation Mark: [G, H, I] (The regulation mark is the letter in the bottom left of a card signifying which block it belongs to, if a card is block F or before, it is not legal for this tournament.)

  • It is important to note that if a card belongs to one of these sets, and does not follow the regulation mark rules, it is not legal.

Proxies

  • Please try to use proxies only if you really can't get ahold of the cards you need. We encourage players to build up their playable collections as much as they can because official leagues allow no proxies at all, and we are trying to work towards that future.

  • The use of proxy cards is limited to 10 per deck. (Only ENGLISH printed proxies are allowed), and the card being used as the back of the proxy must be a real, TPCi card. (Since ascended heroes cards are hard to find for this tournament, Ascended Heroes proxies will not count towards the proxy limit.)

  • Penalties will be issued to players using invalid proxies as it will count as an invalid deck.

  • A proxy card is a card that is placed in a deck to replace a missing/non-owned card.

  • The best method of making a proxy card is using the Limitless TCG tool for printing proxies to get the exact size of a standard Pokemon card. (https://limitlesstcg.com/tools/proxies)

  • After printing and cutting the proxies, place a low-value card (using basic energy cards for this is recommended) into a sleeve, and place the proxy into the sleeve. (Make sure the supporting card is not facing the back; this may count the card as marked and cause a penalty)

Tournament Settings

Tournament Structure

  • This tournament will be held in Swiss structure (Explained in "More Information")

Rounds

  • This tournament will be played round by round, in order; since each round pairings are dependent on the previous round results.

  • For each round, every player will have to play 1 match. (In the case where there is an uneven number of players, some players may have a bye on a round, which is a free win).

  • All Swiss matches will be played in a 50 minute, Best of 3.

  • After Swiss is over, the final results will be decided through the Swiss standings at the end, tiebreakers is resistance (Average of your opponents' win %)

  • The round timer will be a shared timer running for all players, and when it runs out, all players still playing a game must follow the rules that decide the winner of the game in this case. (Explained in "More Information").

  • You can find the round timer at all times in your dashboard.

More Information

What is Swiss?

  • "Swiss" is a tournament structure format where in every round, all players play 1 match without eliminations, regardless of their Win/Loss/Tie record. In every round, each player is paired with a different player equal to, or similar to their current score.

  • After a set amount of rounds, the ranking between players is shown by the score earned in the Swiss phase (Win = 3 points, Tie = 1 point, Loss = 0 points).

  • Tie breakers of points is determined by calculating "Resistance", which represents how well the opponents of a certain player have done during the same phase.

  • It is important to note that the ranking is all automatically calculated by the LimitlessTCG website and shown online.

Unfinished Matches during Timeout

  • When the timer goes out as players are playing a match, players have to play 3 more turn before ending the game, regardless of what happens in these turns. They also must finish these turns within 10 minutes.

  • The turn of the player playing their turn during the timeout is counted as Turn 0. The players then play until they reach turn 3.

  • In the Swiss phase, if no winner has been decided after these turns have passed, the game ends as a tie.

  • If you are facing any issues implementing these rules, call a judge to help.
