Welcome to The Oceania Open — Season 0!

Say hello to a brand new weekly series bringing competitive Pokémon TCG Standard events to the Oceania region.
Season 0 is our trial run as we head toward the full official circuit beginning on January 2nd, 2026.

Whether you are preparing for a Regional, refining a new list, or looking for consistent and competitive games with the community, this free online event is the perfect place to get your reps in from home.

🎮 Format: The Oceania Open

1. Standard format using the current PTCGL rotation
2. Newly released sets and promo cards become legal on the day they appear in PTCGL
3. Decklists lock once the event begins

🧱 Tournament Structure

• Swiss Rounds: Best of 1, 35 minutes, five minute check in
• Top Cut: Best of 3, 70 minutes, ten minute check in
• Check ins: Required before the event and before each round
• Timers: Must be enabled for every game
• Rounds may begin early if all matches finish. Please keep notifications on or have the stream open to stay updated.

Swiss Round Guide

4 to 8 players = 3 rounds → Finals (Top 2)
9 to 16 players = 4 rounds → Top 4
17 to 48 players = 5 rounds → Top 8
49 to 96 players = 6 rounds → Top 8
97 to 192 players = 7 rounds → Top 8
193 to 384 players = 8 rounds → Top 8
385+ players = 9 rounds → Top 8
(Swiss rounds may adjust slightly if needed.)

Top Cut is capped at Top 8 for all events.
At higher player counts, an X to 1 finish may not guarantee Top Cut.

🛠️ Housekeeping and Rulings

• Screenshot your victory or tie screen in case a result needs review.
• If the client crashes or freezes, call a judge. If there is no response after a few minutes, ping a Mod or post in Discord.
• If a disconnect happens during the first two turns, restart the match. Judges will confirm this if needed.

🎥 Streaming

Players are welcome to stream their matches. Please use a short delay to prevent stream sniping.
If you stream your match in the Discord channels, you will receive a five minute time extension for that round.

🧑‍⚖️ Contacting Judges

Use the Judge Call button first, then Discord if needed.
Please do not message judges or organisers privately.

💬 Discord Participation

Discord is not required to play, but it is the best way to stay informed during the event.

🏆 Prizing

Up to 50 PTCGL code cards will be awarded to Top Cut players based on attendence
Prizing scales with attendance and is distributed through Limitless after the event concludes.

Top Cut Prize Breakdown

1st Place — 15 codes
2nd Place — 10 codes
3rd - 4th Place — 6 codes
5th - 8thPlace — 3 codes

⭐ Bonus Prize

An additional ten code cards may be awarded for the Most Unique Deck of the Day.
To qualify, a deck must finish with a positive win rate. Judges and streamers will choose the winner based on creativity and originality.

Bring something spicy. It might pay off.

💬 Sportsmanship

Please play fairly, respect your opponents, and keep communication friendly.
Harassment, cheating, or exploiting known bugs may result in penalties or removal from the event.

If you suspect slow play, call a judge right away.
Screenshots or a stream POV will help us resolve the situation properly.

This event is intended to support learning, improvement, and enjoyable competition for everyone.
