King of VGC – VGC 2014 [Kickoff Tournament]

Hello Trainers! The wait is over — our King of VGC circuit officially kicks off on October 18, but with an exciting twist! We’ll be switching from VGC 2013 to VGC 2014 to celebrate the upcoming release of Pokémon Legends: ZA, which takes us back to the Kalos region — the very setting that defined this format!

Tournament Details

Date: October 18, 7:00 PM**
Format: VGC 2014 (as played at Worlds 2014)**
Platform: Pokémon Showdown**
Sample Teams: Will be shared in the comments section to help new players jump in.
Entry Fee: Free

Structure:

17-32 players > 5 swiss rounds > Top 8 (right after swiss)
33-64 players > 6 swiss rounds > Top 8 (right after swiss)
65-128 players > 7 swiss rounds > Top 16 (right after swiss)
