🏆 Tournament Structure & Rules – JPEG Burst! Cup 🏆

Make sure to read all details below carefully to ensure a smooth and fair competition experience.

🎮 Tournament Structure

  • Maximum Players: 64 (Season 0 cap)
  • Format: Swiss Rounds – Accumulate wins to climb the ranks and enter the Top Cut!

📊 Rounds & Advancement:

  • 8–16 players → 4 Rounds → Top 4
  • 17–32 players → 5 Rounds → Top 8
  • 33–64 players → 6 Rounds → Top 8 or Top 16 (if 50+ players join)

🏁 Top Cut

  • The highest-ranked players after Swiss rounds move on to a single-elimination bracket.

🔢 Points System

  • Win: 3 points
  • 🤝 Draw: 1 point
  • Loss: 0 points

⚠️ Make every point count — a single win can make the difference between making the cut or not!

⏱️ Round Progression

  • Rounds begin only after all matches are completed, regardless of time.
  • Any delays will be announced on our Discord — be sure to join and stay informed!

⚠️ Tie Game Resolution

  • If Game 1 or 2 ends in a draw → Replay using Sudden Death (first to score wins).
  • If Game 3 ends in a tie → Replay the full Game 3 from the beginning.

⚖️ Tournament Policies

🤝 Respect & Fair Play

  • Zero tolerance for toxic behavior, trolling, or offensive usernames.
  • Violators will be disqualified without warning.

🃏 Deck Submission Rules

  • Using a different deck than the one submitted = automatic disqualification from that round.

⛔ Invalid Wins (Round 0)

  • Wins before the coin flip or when your opponent isn’t online are not valid.
  • Once the coin flip has begun, the match is considered official.

📸 Match Result Disputes

  • Always take a screenshot of your victory screen to protect your win in case of a dispute.

⏳ Incomplete Matches

  • Unfinished matches when the round ends = tie, unless clear fault is determined.

📶 Connection Loss

  • If you disconnect during a match, you forfeit the game, unless it happens before the coin flip.

🐢 Slow Play

  • If a player lags 4+ minutes behind, take a screenshot and report via Discord.
  • A win may be awarded to the faster player upon confirmation.

🔐 Room Password Issues

  • If the room password isn’t working, both players must agree on a new password.

⏰ Late Check-In

  • You’re responsible for your own check-in.
  • A match may proceed only if your opponent agrees. Judges can reset if needed.

🤝 Intentional Ties

  • Permitted only if both players agree and notify a judge before proceeding.

🧑‍⚖️ Judges & Rulings

  • Judges are there to make fair and final decisions.
  • If both players resolve the issue themselves, no judge is needed.

🎥 Stream Games

Players have the exciting opportunity to stream their matches directly on the tournament Discord server. By choosing to stream, players will be automatically granted a five-minute extension to their match time. This is to ensure that any delays caused by the stream do not affect the overall gameplay. Judges will make sure to inform players whose games are being streamed about the extended time in a timely manner.

Important Reminder: To maintain a fair and competitive environment, players who are streaming their games will be muted by Server Admins. This helps prevent any potential cheating or players inadvertently receiving hints from casters or others watching the stream.

🎮 Stream Tips for Better Quality

Streaming on Discord is a fantastic way to share your gameplay, but there are a few settings adjustments that can help improve the quality of your stream:

🔧 Discord - Disable Hardware Acceleration

To ensure that Discord handles both your stream and PTCGP seamlessly, head to the Voice & Video settings in Discord and disable Hardware Acceleration. By turning off this feature, Discord will be able to manage the stream more efficiently, resulting in smoother gameplay and a better viewing experience.

If you're unsure how to disable Hardware Acceleration or need assistance with the setup, don't hesitate to reach out to the Tournament Discord community. We’re happy to help ensure you’re ready to stream with the best performance possible!
