Dark Storm Team Series #1
Organized by Dark Storm Team
Scarlet & Violet - Regulation I
Simulator

GENERAL

  • The tournament will be held according to the current VGC 2025 format rules, Regulation I (double restricted).
  • Matches will be played on Pokémon ShowDown.
  • Please be sure to allow spectators before starting your matches. Also, to avoid unnecessary disputes, don't close your battles until they're finished and the winner is decided. Saving replays is not mandatory, but it's appreciated in case any issue occurs.
  • Enabling the match timer in ShowDown battles is players' choice, but while this is not mandatory it's appreciated in order to avoid prolonging the tournament for no reason.
  • Each round will be played in Best of Three (BO3), with Open Team Sheets (OTS).
  • A first phase with Swiss rounds will occur, with top cut following afterwards.
  • The number of rounds will be based upon the number of registered players.
  • Since the purpose of the tournament is testing, there will be no prizes or entry fee.

VGC 2025 REGULATION I FORMAT

  • All non-mythical Pokémon available in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet plus DLCs are eligible, including the ones transferable via Pokémon HOME.
  • Two restricted Pokémon per team are allowed.
  • The team must consist of 4-6 Pokémon, and for each battle 4 of them must be selected.
  • Species clause: Pokémon with the same National Pokédex number are not allowed, even with different forms (e.g. you can't use both Rotom Wash and Rotom Heat).
  • Item clause: all held items must be different.

ROUNDS

  • Each round will be played with the Best of Three format. Players will need to win 2 games in order to win the match.
  • Rounds will be played with Open Team Sheets. Each player will be able to see all information about the opponent's team, except for stats.
  • Players must use the same team for the whole duration of the tournament, and they will need to send their teamlist before the tournament starts. Players caught editing their teams between games or rounds will be disqualified.
  • Players must check in for the tournament before it starts, and also for every round. A late check in will result in a game loss, and a further tardiness will result in a match loss.
  • There will be a 40 minutes timer for each round, but this won't be mandatory. Matches must be played to completion, with no ties allowed.
  • Players must report their own score after matches. They may report each game result as soon as they finish them (preferred) or report all the game results at once when the match is finished.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

  • The first phase will be the one with Swiss rounds.
  • The second phase will be the top cut, if enough players are registered.

DISCORD SERVER

  • All players should enter our Discord server (https://discord.gg/pSz4TjAy) and get the VGC player role in the dedicated channel. This will grant then access to the tournament channels where notifications about round start will be posted.
  • Please read the Discord server rules, since getting the VGC player role also means that you agree with them.
