Player Requirements
Players must bring their own valid 60-card deck (Deck rules below)
It is highly preferable that players bring their own playing accessories (Dice, Playmat, Coin, etc.)
Deck Rules
Format
Standard: (SV - Base set) ---> (SV - Journey Together)
Regulation Mark: [G, H, I] (The regulation mark is the letter in the bottom left of a card signifying which block it belongs to, if a card is block F or before, it is not legal for this tournament.)
It is important to note that if a card belongs to one of these sets, and does not follow the regulation mark rules, it is not legal.
Proxies
Please try to use proxies only if you really can't get ahold of the cards you need. We encourage players to build up their binders as much as they can because official leagues allow no proxies at all, and we are trying to work towards that future.
The use of proxy cards is limited to 10 per deck. (Only ENGLISH printed proxies are allowed), and the card being used as the back of the proxy must be a real, TPCi card.
Penalties will be issued to players using invalid proxies as it will count as an invalid deck.
A proxy card is a card that is placed in a deck to replace a missing/non-owned card.
The best method of making a proxy card is using the Limitless TCG tool for printing proxies to get the exact size of a standard Pokémon card. (https://limitlesstcg.com/tools/proxies)
After printing and cutting the proxies, place a low-value card (using basic energy cards for this is recommended) into a sleeve, and place the proxy into the sleeve. (Do not turn around the card as that can be used to mark the card for some sleeves.)
Tournament Settings
Tournament Structure
- This tournament will be held in 2-Group Swiss structure, and Single Elimination top cut.
- Players are being split into groups to allow for a higher participation cap with the amount of tables available on site.
Rounds
This tournament will be played round by round, in order; since each round pairings are dependent on the previous round results.
For each round, every player will have to play 1 match. (In the case where there is an uneven number of players, some players may have a bye on a round, which is a free win).
All Swiss matches will be played in a 35 minute, Best of 1.
After Swiss, the top 4 placers from each group will advance to top cut, where they play in single elimination, 50 minute, Best of 3.
The round timer will be a shared timer running for all players, and when it runs out, all players still playing a game must follow the rules that decide the winner of the game in this case. (Explained in "More Information").
You can find the round timer at all times in your dashboard.
More Information
What is Swiss?
"Swiss" is a tournament structure format where in every round, all players play 1 match without eliminations, regardless of their Win/Loss/Tie record. In every round, each player is paired with a different player equal to, or similar to their current score.
After a set amount of rounds, the ranking between players is shown by the score earned in the Swiss phase (Win = 3 points, Tie = 1 point, Loss = 0 points).
Tie breakers of points is determined by calculating "Resistance", which represents how well the opponents of a certain player have done during the same phase.
It is important to note that the ranking is all automatically calculated by the LimitlessTCG website and shown online.
Unfinished Matches during Timeout
When the time runs out as players are playing a match, players have to play 3 more turns in total before ending the game, regardless of what happens in these turns.
The turn of the player playing their turn during the timeout is counted as Turn 0.
After the player who is playing turn 0 ends their turn, their opponent plays their turn (Turn 1 of timeout), then back to them (Turn 2 of timeout), then back to the opponent (Turn 3 of timeout).
If no winner has been declared after all 3 turns have been completed, The game ends as a tie In Swiss phase. In the Top cut phase, the result of the game is decided by the player who has the least amount of prize cards remaining. If both players have an equal amount of prize cards, then that game is considered a tie.
After the result of the timeout game has been decided, the player who has more game wins is the winner of the match (ex: 1-0, 2-0, 2-1). If both players have an equal amount of games won (0-0, 1-1), then the match is considered a tie.\
(In the case that both players are even in game scores and it is necessary that a winner is declared for top cut progression, the game is continued until one player has less prize cards, in which case, they win the match)
