Gym Leader Challenge format

Today you battle it out, representing your chosen Pokémon type in the much beloved Gym leader Challenge format (all GLC rules apply). If there are any issues, please feel free to contact a judge.

We will use the CardBoard Warriors discord link below for games. Your pairing number will dictate which voice channel to use during your match.

Prizes (minimum 8 players)

  • 1st-8th Place - Holo Trainer Card and Holo Energy
  • 9th-16th Place - Holo Energy

Bounty Prizes - Prizes will be awarded to participants that finish in the Top 4 and complete a bounty listed below. Prizes are based on which bounty you complete. Each bounty can only be completed once, and the prize will be awarded to the person that finished the highest while completing it.

  • No Balls Bounty - Play a deck with no "ball" cards - Gold Nest Ball 158/149 (S&M Era)
  • I'm Free Bounty - Play a deck with no energy cards - Full Art Iono SVP 124
  • Always Awake Bounty - Play a Colorless deck without Snorlax - Full Art Arven 235/198
  • Who's The Boss Bounty - Play a deck without Guzma, Lysandre, or Boss's Order - Full Art Boss's Orders 248/193 (Ghetsis)
  • I'm Not Lost Bounty - Play a deck with Mirage Gate - Colress's Experiment GG59/GG70
  • Go Green Bounty - Play a deck with Budew and Hustle Belt - Rillaboom SWSH006
  • I'm New Here Bounty - Play a deck with any of N's Pokemon - N's Reshiram 167/159
  • No Crying Bounty - Play a Water deck without Sobble - Manaphy GG06/GG70 and Palafin 200/197

Proxies

Proxies are allowed so long as they are color printouts from the limitless proxy tool. Proxies must be indistinguishable from other cards. Energy cards with proxy names do not count and will result in a game loss.

Rules

Please don't cheat, and please don't break the rules. We are all here to have fun.

  • Shuffling MUST occur on screen.
  • Hand, discard pile, deck and prizes MUST stay on screen at all times.
  • Opposing players may request a cut after shuffling.
  • Opponent's may request a cut after shuffling occurs for a deck search or any other shuffling action.

A player may warn the other player the first time there is a rule break, then upon the second occurrence, a judge may be called. The judge will have sole discretion over whether an infraction results in a game loss. All judge decisions are final.

Format

  • 45 minute rounds
  • Best of 1
  • 5 minute check-in
  • Rounds start when all matches have completed in the previous round.
