TBL Champion's System

TBL Overdrive is one of two brands for the Tamers Battle League, where one player becomes the Vaccine Surge Champion, the reigning champion of the TBL Overdrive brand!

Vaccine Surge Championship Perks

1. Free TBL Ignition & TBL Overdrive entry for as long as the title is held
2. The Vaccine Surge Champion role in Discord
3. Access to the Champion's Room in Discord, a publicly-viewable channel where only Champions, YouTube Members & Twitch subscribers can talk

Champion's Bounty

• The reigning TBL Ignition Virus Break & TBL Overdrive Vaccine Surge Champions hold a bounty!
• Defeating them gives a 50% refund on that night's TBL entry fee

#1 Contender's Tournament

• Every 4-6 weeks, TBL Overdrive will hold a #1 Contender's Tournament
• The winner earns the right to challenge the TBL Overdrive Vaccine Surge Champion at the next PLE (Premium Live Event)

Premium Live Events (PLE)

• A YouTube Member's & Twitch Subscriber's Only Event
• PLEs occur every 4-6 weeks and feature exciting matches where the TBL Ignition Virus Break & TBL Overdrive Vaccine Surge Champions will each defend their title against their respective #1 contender in a B05 Conquest Match
  • Each player prepares 5 decks and must win 3 games to take the match win
  • Winning with a deck removes it from that player’s lineup
  • The losing player may opt to continue playing their deck or swapping it out
• PLEs are exclusive content for YouTube Members and Twitch Subscribers of DigiGuard United and are anticipated to take place on Saturday mornings/afternoons ^{*player availability pending}

Quarterly PLEs

• Quarterly PLEs (every 3 months) will see both the TBL Ignition Virus Break & TBL Overdrive Vaccine Surge Championships on the line!
• Winners of TBL Overdrive will qualify for the quarterly PLE and gain access to the Champion's Room
• Winners of these prestigious events will gain permanent access to the Champion's Room, as well as a Vaccine Surge branded deck box and set of sleeves
• Quarterly PLE formats will alternate between the following:
  • Top Cut Swiss will have X Swiss rounds with a Single Elimination Top Cut, where the winner of the tournament becomes the new champion!
  • King of the Hill Elimination will feature the champion starting the tournament with the title, and whoever defeats the champion will become the new champion, until the tournament finishes where the player holding the title at the end of the night is the new champion!
• Both formats will feature separate brackets for the TBL Ignition Virus Break & TBL Overdrive Vaccine Surge Championships

Stipulations

Champions are required to compete regularly. If a Champion does not participate for 3 events consecutively, particularly without notice, the title will be vacated and up for grabs at the next TBL Overdrive.

International Participation

• We welcome all players no matter where you live
• Physical prizing will be shipped out in batches to keep costs one time and simple (~every 3 months)
• Gift cards are still applicable to international players, who will be able to procure items through DGU and get them shipped out in the next shipping batch

General Info

• Latest restriction list applies (https://world.digimoncard.com/rule/restriction_card/)
• Deck lists ARE required
• Tournament starts at 7pm EST
• Swiss rounds played based on player attendance as detailed in the TRM (3.6 Number of Rounds)
• A 720p webcam and decent microphone ARE REQUIRED to participate

Spectating & Livestreaming

• By participating in this tournament, all participants automatically agree to being livestreamed by both the official livestream and individual content creators
• Spectating individual matches ARE NOT allowed when there is an official stream available - watch the featured match via the official livestream
• Livestreaming your own matches ARE ALLOWED
• Tournament will be livestreamed @ https://twitch.tv/digiguardunited
• If there is no livestream, you are free to spectate matches as long as both players are OK with that.

Time Rules

• 55 minute rounds (50 minutes + 5 minutes overtime or 3 turns, whichever comes first)
• 5 minutes late = Game Loss
• 10 minutes late = Match Loss
• If neither player has won at the end of time in overtime, the game is declared a draw - according to the TRM (5.2 End of Round Procedures)

Prizing Structure

• At 8 players, the tournament will be supported by the Official Store Tournament 2025 Vol. 2 Packs ^{*while supplies last}
• Every 8 players add an additional Tournament Kit to the prizing (1 kit = 1x Winner's Pack, 8x Participation Packs)
• DGU 3D print can be DigiCounters, a deck box (Digi-Egg of Miracles, D-Storage, etc.) or any other 3D prints you find (within reason)

Participation

• Each player who registers BEFORE 6:30pm ET AND FINISHES the tournament will receive a Participation Pack ^{*once there 8 players}
• Additionally, every player who finishes the tournament and does NOT top will be eligible for a raffle entry
• At 16 players, every player will receive an additional $5 store credit to the DGU Armory

Raffle

• 1 winner chosen from non-placing players
• $10 Gift Card OR 1 free TBL entry

At 24+ players, prizing will be adjusted accordingly

Cheating

We are very heavy against cheating of any sorts - whether that is getting help from your stream chat, someone offering advice, weird shuffling, taking cards from elsewhere - nothing is tolerated. Each occurrence will be reviewed on an individual basis, but will almost surely result in not only an immediate ban from the tournament, but barred from all future tournaments as well as the Discord. We do not tolerate cheating, and we will make sure to investigate and prosecute cheaters to the best of our ability.
