Phases:

Participants Rounds points
1-128 7 15

  • Forcing ties: Any player found guilty of forcing ties with intentional "slow play" will receive an immediate round loss, if this happens twice you will be dropped from the tournament for disruptive gameplay, this is why it is imperative to screenshot and screen record all evidence otherwise we cannot prove these things. We also do not allow any "decided ties" you are required to play out all games you are assigned.

  • Advancing : Please note that if you advance, there is no second day. The entire tournament is over the course of 1 day so be prepared for a long day if you qualify for the final few.

  • In the discord we will hold a poll on whether we start rounds early or if we wait for the full round time.

  • Round time will be 40 minutes which should be plenty of time to play 3 matches.

  • Any player may participate in another tournament but please be mindful that the final few have stricter rules and you may not have time to play two tournaments at once. We will not hold up the entire tournament for 1 participant.

Deck Format:

  • Deck Rules: Pokemon pocket allows 20 cards

  • Restrictions: NOEX (this includes any and all Pokemon that are worth 2 points when knocked out)

  • Ditto/energy rule: Ditto decks are the only deck allowed to change energy. ALL OTHER DECKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ENERGY SWAPS.

  • Number of decks allowed: While some card games allow a side deck or alternate deck there will be no such thing in this format. You will pick and play one deck, those caught violating rules will receive penalties

Rules:

  • Decklist Submission: You must submit your decklist on Limitless. Players are allowed to submit their decklist late however please be mindful that we will closely monitor top ensure no cheating or foul play occurs.

  • Check-in policy: You must click the check-in button for each match within 5 minutes of the round start. Failing to do so will result in an automatic round loss. If you start playing a game without clicking the check in button, it will still result in your loss. If you check in and go AFK (away from your keyboard/phone), you will receive a match loss every 5 minutes. The check-in time for the Final Few will be removed by the website this means once you have finished your previous match, if your opponent waits 10 minutes on you then you will lose the round.

  • Incorrect deck: If you've chosen the wrong deck at the beginning of a match, do not start to play and restart immediately. Pressing "start play" results in an immediate game loss. Screenshot the wrong deck, and communicate on limitless that you chose the wrong deck, and reset the current game. If you play any card before confirming it's the wrong deck, it will still result in your match loss.

  • Incorrect Card: If you notice that your Opponent plays a card not listed in their decklist, screenshot it, pause play, and request a judge, they will ask you for the screenshot to be posted in #tournament-issues so be prepared for that. Cosmetic changes where the cards wording is exactly the same do not count as an incorrect card. However, cards where the name is the same, but the typing, moveset, effect, damage, hp, retreat cost, or weakness is different, it will count against you. After this has been reported, that game will end. The incorrect deck will need to be corrected before proceeding to the next game otherwise the round will then go to the other player.

  • Bugs and Glitches: If you encounter issues like game freezing, internet problems, or crashes, it will result in a match loss for the affected player, unless you can log back in and the game can be continued before the app ends the game. If the app ends the game on or after turn 1 the point goes to the person who gets the victory screen. If the issue occurs at the start, or a player can't load in, and the game ends on turn zero, screenshot the evidence, and you will be able to reset, upon providing evidence, without losing or gaining a point. If you cannot provide evidence your opponent will still receive the point.

  • Completed matches: After completing your matches, please remember to screenshot the results. Be sure to keep screenshots of each round in case any disputes arise.

  • Ties: If a tie occurs within the game please take a screenshot (both players) and replay that match until a winner is decided. If you Tie and the time remaining is not enough to complete a match, the result will be a tie, If one person has won a point previous to the tie, they will get the victory.

  • Hold-up: We will not hold up the next round for an exorbitant amount of time, however if you believe your game can be completed within 90 seconds of a round end and the round timer is nearing zero, before it reaches zero request a judge and announce this and we will attempt to make it work. Please note that we will not always be able to accommodate this, and you will take the judge's ruling as is. if you do not request a judge before the timer reaches zero we will not make any special accommodations.

  • Accountability: Please screenshot all wins and losses regardless of circumstance and make sure to include timestamp and name within the screenshot otherwise it will be invalid.

  • Bad manners and Inappropriate behavior: Players displaying bad manners toward others or staff will receive an immediate game loss. Continued misconduct may lead to disqualification, while further offenses could result in a season-long ban. Bad manners include insults, toxicity, bullying, discrimination, and harassment.

  • Streaming: Players are welcome to stream and record their matches on any platform. However, those found guilty of stream sniping or using their opponent's stream for an unfair advantage will face immediate disqualification. This includes in between rounds, "simply viewing" or joining to watch at all while you are matched with them.

  • Some streaming will also be done by our tournament staff, anyone who wishes not to be on stream must let us know beforehand that way we can make sure to not include or skip you during our streaming sessions.

  • Call a Judge: If you encounter any issues with Limitless, the game or your opponent, please use the "Call a Judge" feature within Limitless. A judge will join your chat and help you with your problem. They will ask for screenshots 99% of the time, please be ready to share those.

  • Starting the match: To start the match you will use the limitless chat function to share the code, if there is problem sharing the code in the chat on limitless you will use discord to ensure that the code can be copied appropriately, if you have an issue with the auto-generated code, feel free to come up with a new one in the limitless chat. your discord name must match Limitless name. you can change your name in discord, if you are having a problem please ask within the server.

  • Showdown!: This is a unique rule for those looking to spice things up and take a risk. If both players agree to a showdown then they will call a judge and the judge will note down the table number to confirm a showdown will take place, instead of a best of 3 it turns into a best of 1 and the winner takes the round! You may not disputes the results and ask for a best of 3 after the fact if you lose.

  • Additionally any unforeseen issues not mentioned above please take a screenshot and annotate said issue and submit it to our discord in the #tournament-issues section. Additionally if the problem is very severe you can start a ticket in the discord by clicking on the #support-ticket channel, or feel free to email us at blazing exeggutorcrew@gmail.com
