Yadon Award

After completing the final round of Swiss each day, players will have a chance to publicly share their most embarrassing misplay of the tournament, after which players can vote for the biggest misplay of them all. The winner receives a special prize!

Match Time Limits

Swiss rounds will feature a 40-minute +3 turn time limit. After the time limit expires, three additional turns will be played. If, by then, neither player has won the match, the game will continue in Sudden Death, with the next Prize card drawn determining the winner. Ties are not allowed.

Top 8 matches (as well as On-Demand tournaments) will not have a time limit, but players must always play at a lively pace.

Late Players

Players will have three minutes after pairings are posted to start their round. During the Swiss rounds, players shall begin their match as soon as they are seated and ready, but must be seated with their deck and ready to play by the start of the round timer or will be considered late. Late players will forfeit any unfinished match after the time limit +3 turns expires, regardless of game state. In the event that both players were late to the match, this penalty applies to the player who arrived later. A player more than 5 minutes late automatically forfeits the match.

Reprints, Foreign Cards, Proxies

In order to ensure players have easy access to the cards needed to build their decks, all language cards and reprinted versions of cards are legal at this event. Reprints are allowed provided there is no significant text differences between the EX era and reprinted version. Players will also be permitted to use up to 10 proxy cards in their decks. World Championship cards may be used without counting towards this limit.

Proxy Guidelines

  • Proxies must be indistinguishable from the other cards as parts of your deck while sleeved. You should not be able to tell by the sleeve openings or thickness which cards are proxies and which are not).
  • Proxies must be original English prints with all appropriate text and typing. No hand-written proxies are allowed. Everyone must be able to readily recognize the cards for what they represent and easily read the words on them.
  • Players may choose to print proxies on regular printer paper. These proxies must be in full color, cut to the approximate size of Standard Pokémon cards, and placed in front of a real Pokémon card inside the sleeve. See the depiction below.
