Rules!
Decklists: Decklists need to be submitted through limitless! You can only submit one decklist and you MUST use that deck throughout the entire tournament. Call a judge if you notice your opponent is using the wrong deck. If you are caught using the wrong deck you will be disqualified immediately. Repeat offense in multiple tournaments may result in a strike (see below).
Check Ins: There is a check in 30 min before the tournament starts, and 5 matches between each round. Failing to check in the first time results in an automatic ROUND loss. Failing to check in a second time results in an automatic loss and being dropped from the tournament, as well as a strike. (If there was a valid reason, appeal the strike in the discord please)
Phase 1 (Qualifier): Phase 1 of the tournament is in BO3 (Win 3, Tie 1) Swiss format. They are 40 minuets long with 5 minuet check in times.
Phase 2 (Top Cut): Phase 2 of the tournament is in BO3 Single Elimination Bracket format. The matches have no time limit. However, stalling the match for the purpose of coercing your opponent to concede is not allowed and will be met with disqualification. If all non-eliminated top cut players agree, the remaining rounds of the tournament can be held the next day at the same time.
Intentional Draws: Intentional Draws (IDs) Are allowed only in phase 1 of the tournament. You must call a judge to confirm that both players agree to the draw. Coercing your opponent to agree to an ID is NOT allowed and will result in immediate disqualification and 2 strikes. Note: Draws are for the current ROUND not for individual matches.
Connection Issues before match: Connection issues occurring before the game begins is fine. However, if the round has ended and the full round was not completed due to connection issues with the player in lead, it will result in a tie regardless of score. ex, If A has won 1 match, and B 0 but A has connection issues for the rest of the round, it is a tie. If it was B with the connection issues, A is awarded the Win.
Connection Issues during match: Connection issues during the match results in a win for the player with the victory screen.
Streaming: All players are allowed to stream their matches. Its recommended they add a delay to avoid stream sniping. Stream sniping is NOT allowed and will result in a disqualification and a strike if proved.
Top Cut Streaming: All players that make it to top cut are required to either;
- Stream their matches in the discord
- Stream their matches on another site and provide the link to sdF (With the option to save the stream as a video afterwards turned on)
- Record their matches with the intention to send them to sdF after the tournament is completed (Preferred)
- Sound is not required for any option
Discord: Joining the discord is not required but highly recommended as this is where updates, news on new tournaments, and more will be located. Joining the discord is required however in Top Cut as this is where players will need to claim their prize.
Judges: Only contact judges through limitless. Only contact through discord if its necessary.
In Game Name: Make sure to tell your opponent your in game name before the match begins. This is required even if it is the same on limitless.
Ties (Swiss): Ties for ROUNDS are allowed and are awarded one point. if however you tie in a MATCH, that match is not counted, and the match will be replayed. If the round ends and the current score is 0-0 it simply results in a tie.
Ties (Top Cut): In Top Cut, it is its same. Ties are not counted. If two players tie 2 times in a row, they play one more game. If that game results in a tie, whoever delt the most damage wins. If this method STILL results in a tie, then whoever got the first point that match wins. Ties for rounds are not possible as their is no time limit for rounds in Top Cut.
Strikes: Strikes are global across all SPT tournaments. If a player gets 3 or more strikes, they are banned from all current and future tournaments organized by SPT. Strikes can be appealed in the discord, but otherwise remain forever. Bans can also be appealed in the discord. Acceptance of appeals depends on what caused it. If you get banned a second time it is permanent and can NEVER be appealed.
Rules for prize tournaments / phases: If a rule is broken that results in any amount of strikes, while the tournament is in Phase 2, it is instead an immediate ban from all SPT events and disqualification from the tournament. If an appeal is accepted for this type of ban, it will only be lifted for non-prize events and the ban will remain for all events with a prize.
Room Code: Make sure the room code (private match password) is unique.
