Welcome to Thursday Throwdown, a weekly VGC tournament!

Event: Thursday Throwdown #1

Platform: Nintendo Switch, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Format: [Gen 9] VGC Regulation H

Prize: No prize, free to enter

This tournament usually happens Wednesday, but is happening on a different day, on Thursday, this week. The tournament is free to enter. No prize will be paid out, but the level of play will be high. This tournament is great practice!

We follow the VGC rules created by the Pokemon Company.

1. Treat everyone with respect, regardless of position or player skill. We do not tolerate unsportsmanlike conduct at our tournament.
2. Please ensure your teamsheets are correct before you submit them. Errors on your teamsheet must be declared to your opponent before the set begins—otherwise, the set is lost.
3. Please report any connection errors to a judge by either requesting a judge or posting in the Discord.
4. Don’t be rude to newer players—we’re all here to have fun and play our favorite game!
5. If you have any questions, please call a judge!

Our tournament follows a Swiss format. The number of rounds will vary based on the number of players.

• Under 16 players: 4 Swiss Rounds, Top 4 Final Cut
• 17-24 players: 4 Swiss Rounds, Top 8 Final Cut
• 25-32 players: 5 Swiss Rounds, Top 8 Final Cut
• 33-48 players: 5 Swiss Rounds, X-2 Final Cut
• 49-64 players: 6 Swiss Rounds, X-2 Final Cut
• 64+ players: 6 Swiss Rounds, x-2 Final Cut
