Tournament Rules

Structure:

  • Swiss System: You will be paired with a new opponent each round and your goal is to earn as many wins/points as possible.
    • A match win is worth 1 point.
    • A match loss or draw is worth 0 pts.
  • Top Cut: At the end of the Swiss period, the top players will advance to a single-elimination bracket.
  • Best-of-3: All matches in this tournament are best-of-three games. This means you will play up to three games against each opponent; the first player to win two games is declared the match winner.

Deck Rules:

All currently available Pokémon TCG Pocket cards are allowed.

You can use a different deck every match.

Check-In Period:

  • Call time will start at 6pm on Nov 9 Saturday through a Group Post with details of the matchups.
  • Participants should be present in the Battle Community Chat by 6:30pm.
  • 6:30pm onwards: You should coordinate the Match Password with your opponent and begin play within that period. Players who are late and/or non-responsive may incur a penalty including match loss and possibly removal from the event.
  • Player wins round if 10 mins before the next round starts and opponent is no-show.
  • Participants who finished a match should be ready for the next one.

Gameplay Rules:

  • Proof of Match Result: It is recommended that players take a screenshot of the Victory screen(Card of the Game page) for each game and post it in the Battle Community Chat. You should keep a copy until the end of the tournament in case there is a dispute. If two players disagree on the outcome of a game and neither has proof, it will be scored a double loss.
  • Time Limit: in-game match time
  • Game Loss Due to Connectivity Issues: It is our policy that each game initiated should count toward the match outcome. If a player’s game becomes unresponsive due to internet or app issues, that player should accept the game loss.
  • Any disputes should be resolved by the tournament official.

Sportsmanship and Fair Play:

  • Maintain good sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
  • Avoid any disruptive or disrespectful behavior.

Prize Structure:

*This is a friendly tournament with no prize pool. This will serve as a baseline for future tournaments both friendly matches or with prizes.
