Rules:

  • It is recommended to have screenshot proof of any win or tie for a game.
  • Tournament will be open deck list, it will be necessary to send the tournament coordinator a decklist prior to the tournament. (Exporting from PTCG Live would be acceptable)
  • Send the tournament Coordinator your PTCG Live username alongside the deck list so that they can send it to your opponent at the start of the round.
  • Total round time to play is 33 minutes, with a check in time of 3 minutes.
  • If time is called it is a tie! If you believe your opponent is "slow playing", please call a Judge as early as possible. (The only acceptable forms of proof are: a video recording, a link to a stream, your opponent admitting to "playing slowly on purpose".)
  • Technical issues like game crashes and disconnection issues will be treated as game losses unfortunately. The Player with the win screen will be awarded the win. There are no time extensions.

Structure:

  • This will be using The Pokémon PTCGL standard format using PTCGL with open deck lists.
  • We will be using The Pokémon recommended number of rounds:
    • 4-8 players = 3 Swiss Rounds
    • 9-12 players = 4 Swiss Rounds
    • 13-20 players = 5 Swiss Rounds
    • 33-64 players = 6 Swiss Rounds
    • 65-128 players = 7 Swiss Rounds

Top Cut is Best of 3 paired up in bracket.

Rare Hunters:

  • There will be players chosen to be “Rare Hunters” for the event (based on total number of players).
  • These players will not be announced as “Rare Hunters” during the event and only will be revealed to an opponent they are paired up against.
  • Upon defeating a Rare Hunter, you will be awarded 1 “Celebrations” pack code separate from the total prize pool.
  • The winners of the previous tournament will be invited to be “Rare Hunters” for the next event.
  • Rare Hunters are awarded 1 “Latest Pack” code per win in the event.

Epilogue:

Thank you for participating! As a dad who doesn’t always get to play in person, I would like to continue hosting these tournaments moving forward for others who also have a busy schedule. This dry run will help make future ones better. Be patient with me, and I promise I will try to make something fun for the community. ❤️
