Welcome to the NorCal VGC Reg F Midseason Showdown!! We are excited to announce that this tournament is a premier event, which means we will be rewarding Championship Points towards qualifying towards Worlds 2024. Our team is excited to be hosting this month on March 16th, 2024 at CardArt in Sunnyvale!

Schedule:

• Preregistration begins February 6th
• Onsite Registration begins at 9AM
• Player's Meeting / Round 1 is expected to start at 10AM

Format:

• Pokemon Scarlet & Violet - Regulation F
• Open Team Sheets
• Best of 3 Swiss Rounds to Best of 3 Single Elimination Top Cut
• Rental Teams are NOT allowed

Enforced Rules & Regulations:

As a Premier Event, we will be enforcing rules and regulations more strictly. Please make sure that when playing:

• All accessories are hard wired on your Switch. This includes and is not limited to controllers, audio devices, and docking stands. No headsets (headphones with microphones) please!
• Team / Data Checks will be stricter. To ensure that you have all legitimate Pokemon, please ensure that you source it yourself.

Requirements:

• Play! Pokemon Player ID
• A copy of Pokemon Scarlet or Violet
• A Nintendo Switch / Lite / OLED
• A Nintendo Switch Online Subscription (Required for team / data checks)
• A Nintendo Switch Charger or Portable Battery (charging stations will be onsite, but may be limited)
• A filled out physical copy of your Team Sheet for Tournament Organizer and Opponent (fillable PDF here: https://www.pokemonlabs.com/images/uploads/VG_SV_Team_List_fillable.pdf ). Please make sure to have both sheets filled and printed out. A physical copy of the stats will go to the staff. The other team sheet with limited information will be the copy given to your opponent each round.
• If you are unable to print out your own team sheet, blank teamsheets will be provided on site for you to write in and fill out.

Entry Fees:

• $20 USD

Prizing (if we hit 30): Total Pot: $200 Cash / $200 Store Credit

• 1st Place: 40% ($80 Cash + $80 Store Credit)
• 2nd Place: 20% ($40 Cash + $40 Store Credit)
• 3rd-4th: 10% each ($20 Cash + $20 Store Credit)
• 5th-8th: 5% each ($10 Cash + $10 Store Credit)

What if total entry fees go above the prize pool?

If entry fees exceed the total pot, all additional entry fees go towards cost of maintaining the venue, tournament staff, and equipment to create a better playing and streaming experience.

Misc:

• Walk in spots will be available, but limited. Please arrive early.
• This is a Premier Challenge event. Championship Points will be awarded.
