FORMAT

This tournament series is held in the Standard format. Sets and promo cards will be considered legal on the day they are available on PTCG LIVE. Players are required to submit an open deck list.

CHECK IN

Players are required to check in during each round of the tournament. You will have 5 minutes to check in before an automatic loss is awarded for that round. If a player does not check in for two consecutive rounds they will be dropped from the event. During Top 8, players who are 5 minutes late to check in will receive a Game 1 Loss. Players 10 minutes late will receive a match loss.

ROUNDS

Rounds are based on the number of players participating.

4-8 players = 3 Swiss Rounds and No Top Cut

9-12 players = 3 Swiss Rounds and Top 4 Cut

13-20 players = 4 Swiss Rounds and Top 8 Cut

21-32 players = 4 Swiss Rounds and Top 12 Cut

33-64 players = 5 Swiss Rounds and Top 16 Cut

65-128 players = 6 Swiss Rounds and Top 24 Cut

128+ players = 7 Swiss Rounds and Top 32 Cut

SWISS ROUNDS

Swiss Rounds are 35 minutes. If time runs out, and you are still playing, both players result in a tie. If a game completes before time, but you were unable to enter the result before the timer ran out, please screenshot the game result and request a judge. We will do our best to resolve the situation!

  • IMPORTANT: However, when time is called during a Swiss Rounds BO1 and play is still ongoing, the game will be a Tie, unless otherwise stated by Staff
  • If time is called it IS a Tie!!
  • If you believe your opponent is "Playing Slowly", please call a Judge as early as possible
  • The only acceptable forms of proof are: streaming your game or your opponent admitting to "Playing Slowly"
  • 35 minutes for a BO1 match is more than sufficient in PTCGL as the match is timed.
  • We are not responsible for technical glitches or issues with PTCGL. If you encounter an issue and your game quits or loses connection etc., and your opponent can provide a screenshot or evidence of a win in the discord, your opponent shall be awarded the win. Consideration will be given if you both agree to replay within the remaining time for the round - if time expires and you are still playing, it is an automatic tie and we move on to the next round
  • If you are checked-in and a TOTAL of 10 minutes has passed and you are unable to start the game and your opponent has not accepted the friend request and / or match request, please call a judge and provide a screenshot of your sent friend request / game request - once reviewed by the judges, you shall be awarded the win.
  • Once all games are completed in a round and the timer has not expired, the competition organizer shall commence the next round. As such it is important to monitor your Limitless Dashboard or the Discord for round notifications. If you miss a check-in due to this situation, you shall be given a Loss. There is NO consideration for resetting a match once the check-in time has expired.

TOP CUT THINNING

Shamrock's Championship does not follow the official Pokémon Play Rules for Top Cut - if we were to, the Top Cut would ONLY be TOP 8. We believe this competition can give more players an opportunity to experience competing in a bracket by widening the number of persons qualifying. As such, based on the number of persons in the tournament at Round 1, we shall determine the number of Swiss Rounds and Number of persons qualifying for the Top Cut (Please refer to the section 'ROUNDS'). In doing so the top cut shall be 'thinned' in a BO1 knockout bracket until there is the Top 8.

TOP 8

Top 8 and onwards; games are on a 50-minute timer and are Best of 3. If the round ends with no clear victor, judges will determine based off of prizes taken in the current game after a Turn 0-3 approach. Players are asked to screenshot &/or keep records of match statistics during authorized play beyond the timer expiration. If the result still ends in a tie, game play may be continued until a victor can be decided. Decisions are final.

CONTACTING JUDGES

All communication with judges is to be done in the Limitless Pairing Chats. Judges shall request evidence via screenshots and will require you to upload to the Discord Tournament Chat.

UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

Any behaviour that is unsportsmanlike should be reported to a judge right away through Limitless chat. Unsportsmanlike conduct will be reviewed on a case by case basis and may result in a short term temporary ban, or a permanent ban. Please be kind to everyone!
