Prizing will start at $50 for 1st place once we get 8 participants, and we'll add prizing for 2nd and 3rd for every 8 entrants beyond that!
Entry fee will be $8 and payment is accepted through PayPal fnf: dmvdrakes@gmail.com (please include your limitless name when submitting your payment, that way we can keep track better).
Please dm one of our admins for your preferred pay method through Discord for other pay methods. Discord link here: https://discord.gg/EZ5JtX3YEb
We recommend that players be in our discord server for the duration of the tournament. This ensures easier direct communication with participants regarding potential discrepancies and prizing allocation.
We will be following the official VGC Series 2 rules.
Additional Rules/Things to know:
This tournament will be Open Sheet, and players will have 5 min. of viewing time.*
Battles will be played over wi-fi in Scarlet/Violet*
Each round will be best of 3 with a 45 min. timer (including 5 min of team sheet viewing). Also keep in mind that once a round goes to time, it is possible for a tie to be assigned in the interest of time.
Rounds will be in Swiss format for the first phase, single elimination for top 8.
When setting up the link battle with your opponent, select double battle with Official Rules Set 2 (feel free to use the link code in you and your opponent's corresponding voice channel's title in our server).
Rental teams are allowed
Tournament will likely be streamed, so there is a chance that your match can be featured. If you do not want to be featured you must let one of our server admins know prior to the tournament starting
In the event of a connection error, take a screenshot of the error message with the screen capture button (◙) on your Nintendo Switch, or a pic with your phone, and send it to ArcaneKaze in our discord server. The player causing the connection issues will receive a different error message than the one who didn’t and thus will be assigned a game loss. Check if the internet connection to the game remains after the match concludes by pressing “Y” and then taking a clip by holding the screen capture button (◙) (you will have to hold it down for 3 seconds to start recording)
If a discrepancy is found WHILE a game is being played please CALL A JUDGE. (If possible take a screenshot or save the recording). Upon verification of a team sheet error, the offending player will receive a game loss for the current game. The offending player has the option to either fix the discrepancy by updating their Pokemon to match their team sheet OR they can choose to no longer be able to bring that Pokemon to any further games in the round. In future rounds, if the offending player is not able to update their team to match the team sheet, the offending player must disclose the error to their opponent and take a game 1 loss. Continued use of Pokemon with a team sheet discrepancy without disclosing to their opponents will result in a disqualification. Expect a judge to spot check. Lastly, simply deciding to not bring the discrepancy isn't sufficient and is also grounds for disqualification from the tournament.
*Some rules will be subject to change depending on reception and feedback within the server.
