Scarlet & Violet - Regulation A

Welcome to the PokeVillageVGC Backyard Brawl. This tournament is free to enter. This is a great opportunity to practice for San Diego Regionals or to begin your VGC journey if you are a new trainer. All skill levels are welcome!

Schedule- Saturday, December 31st, 9:00 am: Swiss Rounds. The number of rounds depends on attendance. In each round, you play an opponent with a similar record so far into the tournament as yours. You are not eliminated after the first round and can play all rounds regardless of your record. The tournament will end mid-afternoon so you will have time to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

Prize- !st place will win a $10 gift card to Amazon.

Rules-The tournament will follow the VGC Series 1 rule set:

  1. This tournament is an open-team sheet tournament. Team sheets will be available in each match. You must upload your team sheet to Limitless before the tournament starts or you will be dropped from the tournament.

  2. Available Pokémon: any Pokémon obtainable through regular gameplay or events of Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet.

  3. Banned Pokémon: all Paradox Pokémon, all Treasures of Ruin, Koraidon and Miraidon. Other Pokémon not allowed in Series 1 are those outside the Regional Pokédex (e.g. Charizard, Quagsire, Perrserker), non-Paldea regional variants (original Wooper), and currently unobtainable Pokémon (Roaming Form Gimmighoul).

  4. Pokémon, moves, or items obtained through unreleased events or illegitimate means are not allowed.

  5. Players will have 5 minutes to check in for their match. If a player is 5 minutes late to a match, it will result in a game loss. If a player is more than 10 minutes late to a match, it will result in a match loss.

  6. Connection issues As soon as you notice a connection issue on your Nintendo Switch, you must do all of the following: • Take a screenshot of the error message with the screen capture button (◙) on their Nintendo Switch, or a pic with your phone, and send it to the admin in PokeVillageVGC via Discord link here. The player causing the connection issues will receive a different error message than the one who didn’t and thus will be assigned a loss for the game. • Check if the internet connection to the game remains after the match concludes by pressing “Y” and then taking a clip by using the screen capture button (◙) again (you will have to hold it down for 3 seconds to start recording)

  7. Each round will be 60 minutes. The next round will take place after the previous round has concluded.

  8. Matches are played in Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet for the Nintendo Switch.

  9. All rounds are played in best-of-3 sets of matches (Bo3).

  10. Rental teams are allowed.

  11. If there is a team sheet dispute, please contact an admin is Discord. Any player who has a team sheet mistake in the game may result in a game loss. That player must update their team sheet and let the opponent know in the Limitless chat. If a player fails to update their list and fails to notify their future opponents, they will be disqualified from the tournament.

  12. Players must be in the Discord Server for the duration of the tournament. Link is in the registration custom field.
