Town Square Tournament Series

Overview Hello there! Welcome to a brand-new tournament series hosted by PokeVillageVGC. This series is called Town Square Tournament. This series will take place the 1st and 3rd weeks of every month. The Town Square Tournament series is designed to allow players to practice and compete more regularly than mainstream VGC tournaments. In the Town Square Tournaments Series, players will compete for Village Points (VP). Players who earn enough VP over various tournaments will qualify for a bigger tournament that will occur at the end of every three months. The administrators will keep track of every player’s VP throughout the series. The championship tournament will have better prizes to compete for. Only trainers who have received 50 VP will be eligible to enter the championship tournaments. The Town Square Tournament Series is a fun and competitive way to practice and grow your VGC skills.

Entry • The Town Square Tournament Series is free to enter. • All players needed to provide a team sheet in PokePaste format with all data about the team’s Pokémon (including form, Tera Type, ability, held item, moves, and either stat values or minted Nature + IVs + EVs). You can use Pokemon Showdown Teambuilder to list your team and then export to PokePaste and submit it to PokeVillageVGC over discord.

Rules • Played on the Nintendo Switch - Rental teams allowed. Check out Poke Paste Rental Teams • Pokémon Limits: Team of 4 to 6 Pokémon from Level 1 to Level 100. All Pokémon then set to Level 50 Pokemon Restrictions: Paldean Pokedex Banlist: Paradox Pokémon, Treasures of Ruin, Koraidon and Miraidon are banned. Check out the rules here if you need any clarification • You must stick with the same team throughout the duration of the tournament.

Battle Format • The Town Square Tournament Series will be the best out of 3 battles. • There will be 4 rounds of Swiss and then Single Elimination Top Cut that will be played in a single day. • Players must use the same team for every battle and throughout the tournament.

Prizes • 1st Place will receive 20 VP and a $10 Amazon Gift Card • 2nd Place will receive 15 VP • 3rd and 4th Place will receive 10 VP • Every player will receive 4 VP for entering. This is an incentive to enter every tournament so you may be able to reach the 50 points needed for the championship tournament.

Team Sheets • The Town Square Tournament Series #1 will be open team sheet as per the official Pokemon VGC Rules Series 1. • Open Team Sheets will include the Pokemon, nature, ability, item, moves, and tera type. Your opponent will not know your Pokémon’s stats or EV’s. Although, when you submit your team sheet to the admin, you must include the Pokémon’s EV’s. • PokeVillageVGC will adhere to the Pokemon Company VGC rules to provide players with the same experience they would expect to see in a Pokemon VGC regional event. • If there are any questions, please reach out to PokeVillageVGC on Facebook or Discord.

Connection issues As soon as you notice a connection issue on your Nintendo Switch, you must do all of the following: • Take a screenshot of the error message with the screen capture button (◙) on their Nintendo Switch, or a pic with your phone, and send it to the PokeVillageVGC via Facebook Messenger, Twitter or Discord. o The player causing the connection issues will receive a different error message than the one who didn’t and thus will be assigned a loss for the game. • Check if the internet connection to the game remains after the match concludes by pressing “Y” and then taking a clip by using the screen capture button (◙) again (you will have to hold it down for 3 seconds to start recording).
