TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

Standard Format SWSH-LOR

  • 9-12 players = 4 Swiss Rounds and Top 4 Cut
  • 13-20 players = 5 Swiss Rounds and Top 4 Cut
  • 21-32 players = 5 Swiss Rounds and Top 8 Cut
  • 33+ = 6 Swiss Rounds and Top 8 Cut

    Phase 1: Swiss Rounds

  • There will be 4-6 rounds depending on the number of players registered.
  • BO1: You'll play a single game against your opponent.
  • Rounds will be 25 minutes long, including a 3-minute check in (incomplete matches will end in a draw).
  • Wins are worth 3 pts; a draw is worth 1 pt; a loss is worth 0 pts.

If a round is finished early, we will start the next round ahead of schedule.
After the final round, the top 4/8 players (depending on the size of the tournament) will advance to Phase 2.

Phase 2: Top Cut

  • BO3: The first player to win 2 individual games is the match winner.
  • Rounds will be 60 minutes long, including a 3-minute check in.
  • Winning will advance players to the next round, while losers will be eliminated from the tournament.

If a match results in a tie, the player with the most prizes taken will be declared the winner. If tied, players will play until the next prize card is taken.

RULES

  1. If you miss Check In under any circumstance, you will be awarded a Full Match Loss for your round.

  2. If a player chooses the wrong deck, they must declare so immediately before any actions are taken. The opposing player should be able to verify that the deck is incorrect, and the game will be replayed. If the player with the incorrect deck completes a turn without acknowledging the error, they will automatically receive a loss.

  3. Any connectivity or software issues that result in the game ending prematurely will result in a game loss to the responsible party.

  4. For games 2 & 3 of Phase 2 matches, the loser of the previous game gets to decide who goes first. (In cases where the winner of the previous game wins the coin flip and selects the wrong option by accident, the opponent is entitled to request a restart of the affected game).

  5. Players should attempt to keep some sort of record of their matches - this can include screenshots, video, or a copy of the game log. In the case of a dispute, it will help to have as much information as possible. At a minimum, you should take a screenshot of the match results page that shows who won/lost the game.
