NAIC Tournament Promo Banner

Hey everyone! My name is Simon and I'm planning on hosting a Retro Tournament on Day 2 of NAIC 2022! This FREE tournament will take place during NAIC 2022 in Columbus, Ohio and will be open to all registrants, no matter if you're playing in the main event or not! Please keep in mind however that this will be taking place during Day 2 of the event so if you are participating in that, you will not be able to compete here.

To keep with the tradition of changing which era and format is played during this semi-annual event, the format for this event will be Sun & Moon base set through Lost Thunder (SUM-LOT.) If you have not played this format, I recommend familiarizing yourself with it using the below links which have a meta breakdown as well as decklists:

Tournament Structure

This tournament will take place over 6 Rounds of Swiss Best of 3 matches with 50 minutes to finish your match. There will then be a cut to Top 8 with a bracketed Bo3 Top 8. Top 8 matches will have 75 minute rounds with tiebreaker procedures in place to determine a winner.

The 1st round will start promptly at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 25th. We plan to be finished with Swiss by 6:00 that evening. If the Top 8 unanimously decides to delay Top Cut to Sunday we can do that, otherwise after a short intermission the Top Cut will immediately proceed.

The Prizing for this event will be provided by myself and Sable Creech and it will be a split of 4 Astral Radiance Booster Boxes as follows:

1st Place: 1 and 1/2 Sealed Booster Boxes of Astral Radiance

2nd Place: 1 Booster Box of Astral Radiance

3-4th Place: 13 Booster Packs of Astral Radiance Apiece

5-8th Place: 7 Booster Packs of Astral Radiance Apiece

Card Legality

This format will allow cards of ALL languages as long as translations are provided. We will also be allowing World Championship cards as well as printed (NOT written) Proxies at the TO's discretion. This is to allow as many people as possible to be able to compete.

I plan on creating a specific Discord Server for this event, but until then if you need me please contact me at #Simon2189 - I am on Discord every day and am more than happy to communicate with everyone!
