This Sword and Shield - Brilliant Stars Modified Standard event is brought to you by PokeRogueTCG a Pokémon Podcast that focuses on breaking the metagame! We decided to create an event that would require its participants to put forth some effort in creating a unique single monotype prize decklist. (No V or Vmax or rule box Pokémon will be permitted)!!! Only a single typing of Pokémon will be permitted! The only exception to this rule is if the final stage of a line requires Pokémon of a different type. For example, if a player wanted to build a grass deck utilizing Leafeon (Grass Pokémon) the use of Eevee (Colorless Pokémon) would be permitted. Singleton rules do not apply! This is not the Gym Leader Challenge Format!

Structure

The structure of the tournament will be simple. Swiss will be in a BO1 format with a 30-minute round limit. In the case that there is a top cut, rounds will be 30 minutes in a BO1 single-elimination format. Grand Finals (Top 2-4 Participants) will be in a BO3 format with no time limit. Grand Finals are simply the final round(s) of the top cut. The number of swiss rounds and top cut will be determined by the number of entries.

In order to maintain a fair and competitive environment, ties will result in zero points. This is to deter participants from declaring an intentional draw to proceed further into the event. Therefore; Wins = 1 Point , Ties = 0 Points, and Losses = 0 Points. Top cut eligibility will be determined off on the number of points a participant has earned at the conclusion of swiss.

-Less than 8 participants = 3 Rounds of Swiss (BO1), Grand Finals (BO3)

-9-16 Participants = 4 Rounds of Swiss (BO1), Top cut of 4 (BO1), Grand finals

-17-32 Participants = 5 Rounds of Swiss (BO1) Top Cut 0f 8 (BO1), Grand Finals (BO3)

-33-128 Participants = 6 Rounds of Swiss (BO1), Top Cut of 16 (BO1), Grand Finals (BO3)

-129+ Participants = 6 Rounds of Swiss (BO1), Top Cut of 32 (BO1), Grand Finals will be top 4 players (BO3)
