Worlds 2017 (PRC–BUS) format

Welcome Back!

Hello everyone! We’ve adopted a new schedule to fit my semester courseload, and I hope you’ll be with us as we continue to explore how we can play this game! The new schedule is as follows:

  • Bi-weekly Custom Formats
  • Bi-weekly Legacy/Old Formats
  • Bi-weekly 48-hour Round Custom Formats
  • Weekly Variety Formats (Custom, 2011-2020, Taiwan Standard/Expanded, etc)

General Rules:

  • Best of 1 Swiss 30 Minute Rounds

  • Best of 3 Single Elimination Top Cut 60 Minute Rounds

  • Any issues can be PM'd to Vi$un14618#4420 or our other staff

  • Pass-Pass is enforced (more down below)

If a player fails to do this, the match is reset, if this happens a 2nd time in a set, the player who forgets takes a loss for that match (note, the match, not the round [for BO3])

  • Check-in opens at 5:30PM EST

  • Registration closes at 6:00PM EST

  • Join the Discord Server for more events like this!

Deck Rules:

  • All cards must be from the sets ranging from Primal Clash to Burning Shadows.
  • All cards from XY Trainer Kit - Latias and XY Trainer Kit - Latios are legal.
  • All cards from XY Trainer Kit - Pikachu-Libre and XY Trainer Kit - Suicune are legal.
  • All cards from SM Trainer Kit - Lycanroc and SM Trainer Kit - Alolan Raichu are legal.
  • All XY Black Star Promos numbered XY39 and higher are legal.
  • All SM Black Star Promos numbered SM01 to SM44, SM46 to 51, SM56 to SM60, SM71, SM86, and SM98 to SM99.

Additional Rulings:

Pass-Pass for this format is as follows:

  • Player A Turn 1: pass (no other action allowed)
  • Player B Turn 1: pass (no other action allowed)
  • Player A Turn 2: play as turn 1 (no evolution) (no attack)
  • Player B Turn 2: play as turn 1 (no evolution)

Then the game continues as normal

[For BO1] In the event of a Player disconnecting from their match. The opponent who disconnects loses the match

[For BO3] In the event of a Player disconnecting from their match. The opponent calls either a redo or a game win (Example below):

  • Game 1: Player A wins
  • Game 2: Player B disconnects and loses the match as a result. Player A chooses whether to take the win or redo this specific game.
