Worlds 2017 (PRC–BUS) format

PokéStats Old Format returns with its 17th event! This tournament will be played in the Primal Clash through Burning Shadows format (PRC-BUS), a format used exclusively for the 2017 World Championships.

This tournament will be played with best-of-one Swiss rounds plus a best-of-three Top Cut based on attendance (number of Swiss rounds subject to change). Matches will be played on PTCGO; both players must draw-pass on their first turn, then play resumes as normal (this is to negate the turn 1 supporter rule change introduced with Sword and Shield).

REGISTRATION:

  • FREE to enter!
  • Submit a decklist only containing cards from XY: Primal Clash through Sun & Moon: Burning Shadows here on Limitless. Failure to do so will result in being dropped from the event. Newer reprints of cards still legal in this format are permitted.
  • Promo card legality is as follows: XY36 through XY211, SM01 through SM44, SM46 through SM51, and SM78

PRIZING:

  • 50 FST packs (plus donations) in the prize pool!
  • If this event reaches 50 players (after registration) then I will add another 50 FST packs to the pool!
  • Exact payout is to be determined by attendance, and will be announced during the tournament in our Discord.
  • The prizing is self-funded, and as such, any donations to the pool would be greatly appreciated. Send me a message on Discord (E_Arts15#3619) and add me on PTCGO (Erik_A) if you would like to donate!

IMPORTANT:

  • If a player forgets to draw-pass on their first turn, or evolves on "turn 1," the game is to restart and that player will get a double Prize penalty.
  • If you disconnect during a game, you will receive a game loss, however your opponent can choose to deny it.
  • IDs (intentional draws) ARE allowed.
  • To communicate these or any other tournament-related issues to staff, use the "Call a Judge" function on your match screen.
  • Decklists are CLOSED as we believe that this will improve the tournament experience. However, please adhere to the spirit of the game and do not abuse this feature by switching out any cards from your deck during the event. We have caught sideboarders before, and we will do it again.
  • Please join the PokéStats Official Discord server at https://discord.gg/Fvfn8Da9P7 in case we must contact you for any reason before, during or after the event. This is not required, but is strongly recommended.

Good luck, and most importantly, have fun!
