Gaard Gauntlet S1 #3
Welcome to the third tournament of Season 1 of the Gaard Gauntlet, whether you're here because you enjoyed Gaard Gauntlet 0 or are new here, glad you could join us.
Tournament Structure
Tournament Length is Attendance Based
- 4-8 Players - 3 rounds - No Cut
- 9-16 Players - 4 rounds - Top 4 Cut
- 17-32 Players - 5 rounds - Top 4 Cut
- 33-64 Players - 6 rounds - Top 8 Cut
- 65-99 Players - 7 rounds - Top 8 Cut
- 100-199 Players - 8 rounds - Top 16 Cut
- 200-299 Players - 9 rounds - Top 16 Cut
- 300+ Players - 10 rounds Top 16 Cut
Tournaments are biweekly on Tuesdays at 8 pm est
There are 7 tournaments in a series
The Top 32 players will move onto an invitational for cash prizes
So join the fun, make a run, and see how you stack up against other players for the chance to qualify for an invitationals with cash prizing, codes, and a custom champion playmat to first place.
Top Cut
Top Cut is a single elimination bracket for Top 8 or Top 16 depending on how many players there are. Top 8 will gets Codes
- 1st - 10 Codes
- 2nd - 8 Codes
- T4 - 6 Codes
- T8 - 5 Codes Everyone else in the tournament will get points based on position.
Points
There are no kickers, just points based on position. It was going to be points per win, but a specific point system is required to be applied across all tournaments in a series, so I'm going with a more diverse point spread to reward both placing and participation.
- 1st: 20 points
- 2nd: 15 points
- Top 4: 12 points
- Top 8: 10 points
- Top 16: 8 points
- Top 32: 6 points
- Top 64: 4 points
- Top 128: 3 points
- Top 256: 2 points
- Top 512: 1 point

Also if you'd like to be featured on stream, every tournament is streamed and we'd appreciate it if some of you could share your games so we can commentate them, so hop on into the discord to meet some of the rest of the community and share some games with us.
Timeouts will be dealt with on a case by case basis, if time is called and your game is still ongoing. Play the remaining turn if a player would win that turn, if not screenshot the game state and call a judge. If both players have a feasible win condition the match will result in a tie.
