November Standard Tournament @ Gamescape SF

Tired of grinding PTCGO? Play some Standard in-person and win cool prizes in the November Standard Tournament at Gamescape, San Francisco's premier game store.

COVID-19 safety: Mask-wearing and proof of vaccination are mandatory for all players. If you cannot present proof of vaccination on the day of the event, you will be dropped. If you remove your mask in the store at any time during the tournament, you will be dropped. No eating or drinking in store is permitted at this time.

Format

Standard format - Sword & Shield through Sword & Shield: Fusion Strike, plus all tournament-legal promo cards from SWSH001 onward.

3 rounds of Swiss, best-of-three. If 16 or more players register, that will be followed by two rounds of a single-elimination best-of-three Top 4.

Time and place

Check-in starts at 12:00 PM, November 20, 2021, and round 1 starts at 1:00 PM.

Gamescape

333 Divisadero St,

San Francisco, CA 94117

Entry

All players must sign up either in-store or on the online storefront in order to receive an entry code. The entry fee is $10, and if signing up online, must be paid at time of entry. In-store signups don't need to be paid up front, but you must have paid before the end of check-in, or you will be dropped.

Attendance is capped at 18 players.

Decklists must be submitted on the Limitless platform before the end of check-in. Decklists can be edited up to the cut-off. If the deck you bring is discovered not to match your submitted list, you will be dropped.

Proxies

Proxies and foreign-language cards are currently permitted, but must both be legible and unambiguous during gameplay and indistinguishable from real cards when face-down or unrevealed in the hand or deck.

No more than 15 proxies are permitted in a deck.

The recommended way to make a proxy is to just clearly print the name and set number of the card being proxied on a basic Energy and sleeve it up with all the other cards in the deck.

For each proxy in use, either an original English copy of the card or an unaltered printout from the Limitless card database of the card must be made available to both players as a reference whenever that card is in a public game zone. If you are using proxies, it is your responsibility to provide reference material.

Failure to comply with these rules will result in your being dropped from the tournament.

Prizing

Prizes will be distributed to the top 4 players as follows:

  • 1st: 12 packs of Sword & Shield: Fusion Strike
  • 2nd: 6 packs of Sword & Shield: Fusion Strike
  • 3rd:/4th 3 packs of Sword & Shield: Fusion Strike

If more than 8 players register, additional prizes may be added to the pool, and will be divided between the top 4 players at a 3:2:1:1 ratio.
