The Sunday Open

Welcome to The Sunday Open with Atlas Collectables!

Important: Visit the Sunday Open discord server for information on full and up-to-date tournament format, rules & procedures and to get involved in our community: https://discord.gg/5UpPuBN

By registering for this tournament, you are indicating that you have joined our Discord server, reviewed the rules in the #read-this-first channel and agree to abide by them.

This tournament is free to play, with $200 in prizing for the top 8 provided by our sponsor Atlas Collectables, redeemable at https://www.atlascollectables.com/ and https://atlaspokemart.com/ where you can pick up all of the latest shiny cardboard as well as online codes for PTCGO

Below are some points that frequently catch out newer players, but please join the Discord Server, read the #read-this-first channel and ask questions if you have any! We are happy to provide answers.

  • We play Standard Format according to what can be played on the PTCGO ladder, which means that new sets can be played as soon as they become available.
  • The first Sunday of every month we play Expanded Format, again with new sets being legal as soon as they are available
  • You do not need to check into the tournament before we start, but do check in to your match every round. Round check-in is 3 Minutes. Don't get caught out!
  • We play with match timers enabled but this does not mean that a player can freely waste all of their time, every turn, in order to run out the round timer and avoid a loss.
  • You must be contactable by a judge at all times during the tournament, preferably via discord or as a minimum in the match chat. Players that do not respond to judge communication run the risk of being awarded match losses or being dropped from the event.

We hope to see you all there, and best of luck to all who play.

Important Announcement

Currently in The Sunday Open we are trialling a slightly different system for penalties incorporating Double Prize Card (DPC) penalties and Quadruple Prize Card (QPC) penalties in addition to the usual Game Loss penalty.

If you receive a DPC or QPC during play, a judge will make this absolutely clear in the match chat on LOTP and your opponent will have to take fewer prize cards to win the game. A screenshot displaying the number of prize cards remaining will be accepted as a victory screenshot.
