DECKBUILDING RULES
- Your Pokémon must all be Basic Pokémon that can evolve in-game.
You may not bring any Evolution Pokémon (like Dragonite) or fully evolved Basic Pokémon (like Scyther). - Blaine is banned.
Fire Decks having the ability to OHKO anything in the format cannot be played around by any strategy, which would sour the play experience.
STRUCTURE:
Best-of-3: All matches are best of out of three games. The first player to win two total games is the match winner.
Swiss System: You will be paired with a new opponent each round and your goal is to earn as many wins/points as possible.
A match win is worth 1 points
A match loss is worth 0 pts.
Point tiebreakers are based on your opponents' win percentages.
If a game results in a tie, it will be replayed until a players has 2 wins.Top Cut: At the end of the Swiss period, the top players will advance to a single-elimination bracket.
Asynchronous 3-Day Rounds w/ 24-Hour Check-In Period
Once a new round is paired all players will have 3 DAYS to complete the match with their opponent.
You must check in through your dashboard within the first 24 hours of each round. If you fail to check in on time, the system will give you an automatic match loss. Players who miss check in should expect to be dropped. If you miss a check in but intend to continue playing in the event, contact an organizer and let us know you would like to be paired in future rounds.
Contact your opponent within the first 24 hours of each round. A player directory will be provided in the #tournament-info channel in the Discord so that you can easily find your opponent’s Discord name.
The number of Rounds will be dependent on the number of participants that check in and submit a decklist:
4-8 players = 3 Swiss Rounds, and no Top Cut
9-16 players = 4 Swiss Rounds, and Top 4 Cut
17-32 players = 5 Swiss Rounds, and Top 8 Cut
33-64 players = 6 Swiss Rounds, and Top 8 Cut
65-128 players = 5 Swiss Rounds, and Top 16 Cut
If you encounter ANY issues with Limitless, the game, or your opponent, please use the "Call a Judge" feature within Limitless. A judge will join your chat to help. Through DIscord, you may contact those with the @Organizer role.
Only the deck list that you submit can be used in the tournament. If you notice that your opponent is using the wrong deck list, please call a judge, and the player will be issued a game loss.
In the event of issues like game freezing, internet problems, or crashes, it will result in a match loss for the affected player, unless the game can be continued. If this issue occurs at the beginning of a match (one player can't load into the match), it doesn't count. You can identify this if a screenshot shows 0 turns played.
Screenshot your victory screen in the case of a match result dispute. This time stamped screenshot will be the determining factor.
Players are welcome to stream or record their matches. However, those found using an opponent's stream for an unfair advantage will be disqualified.
Breaking rules, using game exploits, harassment, etc. will result in penalties.
